The Strangeness of the Palin pregnancy
The topic of whether Sarah Palin was actually pregnant makes me uncomfortable, but the evidence sure is suspicious. When one reads the press accounts of the announcement of her pregnancy, which was just a month before the birth, it just...more »

You mean that den of iniquity of the left Sidley Austin law firm which lobbies on behalf of the likes of Bayer, American Electric Power, and Master Card? That is awful, awful stuff.

They can be as riled up as they want, as long as Obama's elected. For me this election is going to be for every m-f'er who called me the n-word where I grew up in Western New York. Those pukes in Ohio today are no different, but I bet they'll be cheering the football players at Ohio State like crazy on Saturday.
I'll just be thinking of the bar scene in Eddie Murphy's "48 Hours."

You're right, but the gamble since the Palin pick was to solidify the hard right. My guess the objective is to raise their turnout by 8% and decrease swing voters for Obama by 5% and win by 3.
Here is the blowback I see coming. Obama and Biden will relentlessly goad McCain to launch these attacks at next week's debate and Obama will be ready for them and just put the beatdown on McCain.

Whether or not these frothing at the mouth types are plants is beside the point. The crowd is with them 100% and they seem to want blood.
This post is surmising that the whole community organizer / ACORN / whip up the right into a frenzy is a careful plan to increase right wing turnout with the intent of suprressing new voter turnout as much as possible on Nov. 4.

All the campaign said was that McCain wasn't going to be talking about it. Which is probably true.
This has nothing to with Ayers. The Ayers argument simply will not resonate with most undecided voters. Just listen to their comments after last night's debate. They want to hear the issues. The Ayers/Rezko/Wright stuff is to keep the right fired up in the longshot hope to boost turnout and pray that Obama voters don't show up or will be prevented from voting somehow.
What I've learned from nearly a hundred jury trials, is that once a juror has reached a judgment about a witness's credibility it will take a massive effort to undo that conclusion, and it is rarely successful. To a great extent Obama has passed the voters' credibility test. After all who said last night that he will kill bin Laden and crush Al Qaeda? That one did.

You have no need to explain.
The health care is a right moment will loom larger on the national political landscape than "that one." Both with alternative energy and a real health care system, Obama is pointing us to our proverbial moon, like JFK did with the Apollo program.
Anyone also notice how often McCain uses the I pronoun while Obama is about we, us and you. It's not that McCain doesn't want to reach out to Americans, I think he doesn't have a clue how to.

Who in the world puts together an ad with your opponent in good lighting with his "change" brand sign displayed right behind him? The McCain campaign is getting more amateurish by the day. In about ten days we're going to start hearing sniping from inside the camp.

Blumenthal's analysis hardly matters and here's why. The debate between the Biden and Palin had different possible outcomes based on who the perceived victor was. For Obama-Biden there was very little upside to a victory. In essence, it would solidify preconceptions yet change few votes. Palin, likewise, was unlikely to cause voters to switch to McCain, or even go for McCain if undecided, if she exceeded expectations. For her it was the only possible shift was to the downside if she flopped. Otherwise, the old rules apply, the VP debate does not effect outcomes.
Now that we know that Palin can be prepped to plug in talking points, can we move on?

Palin will be out before Friday's debate. Huckabee is suggested as her possible replacement, but will it matter? A withdrawal would be a disaster but a smaller one than if she stays:
