  • Has anybody here heard Osama bin Laden's latest video-taped comments on the U.S. government. I think after hearing his rant, he would fit neatly under the big-tent of the Democratic Party. Heck, if I didnt know who was talking, I would swear the critical comments toward the present administgration were made by Kieth Olberman or Al Franken! The world's most wanted terrorist madman makes a great apologist for liberals. Kind of makes you wonder?

  • Even as eager as Bush seems to be to get us involved in wars, I cannot believe he would be stupid enough to start a war with Iran without a massive coalition behind America. After the 1990's severe military cuts by Clinton, our military has no where near the capacity to attack Iran with their 12 million man army and constant weapons, resupplied from both Russia and China!

How many soldiers could we possibly gather against this massive army, not to mention the 200,000 battle hardened Hezbollah troops that the Iranians started and funded in Syria? The U.S. would be routed without at least 20 to 30 Divisions of soldiers from other nations totally committed to backing us plus almost our entire NATO Forces in Europe, just for starters. If the war drug out for even a few months, we would surely have to start drafting and bringing in hundreds of thousands of new troops monthly!

All I can say is pray to your god that Bush is not that stupid! And pray even harder that Iran has not yet completed those first nuclear weapons which they swill surely have by next summer.

  • So basically what you are saying is that publically speaking out about those who take problems into their own hands and NOT relying on the Federal Government thousand of miles away are fucking idiots and hypocrites instead of heroes.

But those corrupt assholes who have taken more than 44 billion dollars from that same Federalized Government over the last 30 years to improve the levy systems and corruptly pocketed it for themselves, are now bitching and moaning after a massive NATURAL calamity ruined their city because they never rebuilt those levys! And the poor people in that community, instead of drawing together to rebuild their community, are still today just sitting around waiting to suck on the giant titty of the Feds and are pissed because the hundreds of billions in tit milk isn't freely flowing their way!

Even the majority of the billions that are pouring into the Katrina flood region now is going to the corrupt Louisianians for drugs, booze, bigger houses, and Cadallic Escalades!!!

  • I totally agree with you Bill B. & Valdron that the Iranians are the "lunatic fringe," and are out to start the apocalypse that will begin WW3. The U.S., the U.N., the E.U. and NATO should do everything in their power to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Period.

Iran, the ultra-fascist Islamist nation is definitely hell-bent on making war with the West and starting Armageddon. Since 1979, the radical Muslims in Iran have been looking for an excuse to go to war with the West. We need to stop them as soon as possible, or risk global nuclear war!

  • Looks like the lunatic fringe is out.

When you refer to the "lunatic fringe" are you talking about the guy who posted these quotes from the Iranian leadership "verbatim." Or are you trying to say that this guy who quoted these quotes is considered "the lunatic fringe for quoting them "verbatim?"

Fanitcal, radical Iranians have spoken and we have to listen to their quotes "as they have spoken them?" To criticise the man who prints those quotes is unbelievably "ignorant," you fu**ing douchbag. This guy specifically said that he was just quoting news stories without any opinion! If you don't agree with his posting Iranian news, and you don't agree with the Iranians who MADE THOSE QUOTES, you are an idiot! I can never figure out why people in America fail to listen to the Iranian's quotes and take them verbatim. Is it just wishful thinking that they are peaceful or are you just full of asshole ignorance?

  • Sadly, the American people are either FOR or Against Paris Hilton, as if they actually KNOW this woman in any way, shape or form.

I have been hearing the talking head commentaries bashing her as well as common American people for the last week as if these people are her next door neighbor who grew up with her and know ANYTHING about her at all! How sad it is that the United States of America has become a nation where people think because they hear five or six second news clips daily about celebrities that they actually KNOW them in any meaningful way. Now I am willing to admit that I know absolutely NOTHING about Ms. Hilton either way. She may be the world's most spoiled person, or she may actually be a genuinely nice person who cares deeply about others and serious causes and yet puts on an act for the public to further her career as a blond bimbo as SOOOO many actresses have done over the decades.

I guess my point is that I know so many people who care more about the fate of Paris Hilton that they do about their neighbors four houses away who are on the verge of an unnecessary divorce, or the man across the street two houses down who is dying of cancer, or the couple two blocks away with the child with autism that are having a horrible time coping with life!

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO TURN THE TELEVISION OFF AND START GETTING INVOLVED IN OUR GENUINE COMMUNITIES? RATHER THAN THESE FALSE COMMUNITIES WE CREATE ON T.V.? AS HORRIBLE A ROLE MODEL AS PARRIS HILTON IS SUPPOSED TO BE TO OUR CHILDREN, OR EVEN WAY MOR OUTRAGEOSLY AS VIRGINIA TECH WAS, HOW SAD THAT AMERICANS MOURNED FOR WEEKS FOR PEOPLE WHOM WE DON’T KNOW AND WE DON’T HAVE TO ACTUALLY GET INVOLVED WITH PERSONALLY! HOW ABOUT WE ACTUALLY GET TO KNOW, LOVE, AND HELP OUR OWN NEIGHBORS—IN OTHER WORDS WE SERVE OUR OWN COMMUNITIES WITH THE SAME CHARITY AND COMPASSION WE HAVE FOR PAIS HILTON OR VIRGINIA TECH?

  • Perhaps it is because I have lived a few more decades than you and I saw with my own eyes the massive murder machine that Hitler and every nation of Europe did their part to support along with the U.S. dragging their feet, which genocidally murdered 2/3 of my relatives from that region, so I obviously will always see things differently from you.

An obvious example is how you try and compare Sakharov, (of course as an extreme fringe left-winger out there with Howard Dean, Rosie O'Donnell, and George Soros; and your vitriolic intolerance will not let you for one second respect him for standing up to one of the harshest dictatorships in the history of humankind) truly heroic man who suffered and gave years of his life fighting a Socialist regime that murdered 40+ million people--to the mastermind criminal of Scooter Libby, a man who at worst is partially responsible for a petty political act of revenge that is difficult to actually believe would have had any genuine outcome on a war that was already a done deal.

Yes, I think the Iraq war and the subsequent war against Al Qaeda was and is WRONG. I believe both the President and the Congress were given false information on Iraq's WMD capabilities, (though it would have been nice if the Congress would have acted as a "check and balance" against the President as we all learned in our civics classes that our nation’s founders intended when they set up this nation!).

Or enen better, in the long interim when we gave Sadam plenty of notice about the surprise attack that was coming in THREE MONTHS before we unleashed the actual "Shock and Awe" campaign, how much of the WMD evidence which he refused to allow the United Nations to search for for years could have been shipped the two hundred miles from Baghdad to the sympathetic Ba'athist regime in Syria (As my 10 1/2 year old son pointed out at the time, DUH).

Please don't get me wrong, 3,000 American lives are very important. But as is always, with time, history will uncover the truth, and like Harry Truman who left office ten points lower in popularity than G.W. Bush, he is now seen a quite popular leader, even though pseudo-intellectual hacks like one finds a dime a dozen on this site chewed him up and spit him out at the time!

  • Well, one thing that Iran is obviously right about is the recent arrest of an agent in the services of George Soros. I totally agree with you that the Iranians are in the right when it comes to being totally paranoid about George Soros and his plans to take over the entire world! This man needs to be stopped at any cost, and put in prison as THE most dangerous corporate pirate in the history of the earth! He has hundreds of billions of dollars and is trying to rule the earth by buying nations' governments all over the globe! I hope the Iranians can get their hands on him and imprison him for the good of all humanity!

  • Gaza is a premier example of the naïve fiasco that so many wise leaders both within and without Israel warned would happen if land was unilaterally handed over to the Palestinians.

Bebe Netanyahu, for instance, predicted two years ago that if Israel traded Gaza in a "land-for-peace" deal, it would only manage to accomplish two things: propel Hamas into power, and increase the terror against Israel.

First, Hamas would be thrust into power because they would be seen by their people as powerful victors in the war to regain Palestine. By convincing Israel to hand over Gaza after constant shellings, suicide bombings and rocket attacks on civilian tergets, the local Palestinians saw Hamas as powerful victors in the terror war. Netanyahu's prediction proved absolutely true as Hamas handily won control of the Palestinian Parliament bragging they had brought Israel to their knees!

And second, as soon as Israel pulled out of the Gaza Strip in the land-for-peace deal, the violence did NOT stop for long as the Palestinians stepped up the terrorism under Hamas since they had successfully used violence against civilians to gain the Gaza in the first place! And they will continue to get whatever they want, now that a precident has been set: Hamas terrorism equals Isreali surrender and unilateral defeat.

The moral of the story? NEVER, NEVER negotiate with terrorists. It only gives them more strength and they only commit even bloodier acts of inhumanity spurred on by gaining victory with the weak willed, wishful thinking politicians whom they intimidate with terror in the first place.

  • The bottom line in voter fraud is that evil exists in the hearts of those who choose to cheat. When paper ballots and punch cards were used and proven to be vulnerable because of the intense difficulty many Floridians had in punching a hole through a piece of paper, conspiracy theorists shouted, "We must start using computers to avoid a repeat of this travesty!"

Then computers replaced the simple punch cards, and now those same conspiracy buffs are complaining we should get rid of the computers and go back to the simple punch cards that even a three year old child can do (except in Florida). I imagine whatever form of balloting we use, it will be completely unacceptable as long as the loser's candidate can come up with some excuse to blame on the balloting instead of their own weakness as a candidate.

And let's not forget that the vast majority of voter fraud exists outside of the voter booth. In one instance in 2004, we had a major Independence Day celebration in downtown Denver. Some group calling themselves Move Ahead or something like that collected over 50,000 voter registration forms in that weekend. Unfortunately, only the Democrat registrations were turned in to the County Registrars Office, while all of the forms registering Independents, Republicans, Greens, Libertarians, etc. were found in trash dumpsters covered with so much garbage they were ruined! In November when 20,000+ non-Democrats showed up to vote, they could not do so because they were NOT registered! This is commonplace behavior in Denver and Boulder, Colorado! Neither computers nor paper ballots can stop the hearts of those who will try and win an election at any cost. Period.
