Many of us share in a general vision for this country. We share in a general interest, But...
Many more of us seem to prefer to brake-out into positions and arm themselves with rhetoric meant to divide and shot-down opponents - all looking for the right turn of a phase, with the weight of an authority, whether it be genus, history, law, comedy, or the Bomb to decimate the other side. Remember, in a crime of passion the victim is usually a family member.
I agree with much of what has been said about Huckabee's character and JNagarya's display of the Second Amendment. And I do not excuse this incident as a joke. It is too serious an incident to allow it to be exploited by arm dealers in gotcha politics. What I am saying is let's stop playing with guns, and let's not be distracted by arms dealers.
Right now, Democrats face a more difficult task, we need to fashion a new approach to issues that have suppressed many in our culture for longer than this country has existed. Because the Republicans seriously lost their barings during the Bush years, and because Democrats put forward the most articulate group of voices, this gives US the opportunity to do this work within the Party. We can start by reconciling differences between Obama and Clinton supporters. Let’s not sweep anything under the rug, but lets work to provide space for all of our aspirations.
To the winners, lets not forget that after a very contentious primary contest, nearly half of democrats will be seriously disappointed in the results. The time is coming to reach out and carry each other’s water and push forward a united vision. This work falls on all of us.
If you need to throw grenades and deal in arm go somewhere else.

As people are realizing the difficulty in denying Obama the nomination, this drama continues to no possible benefit to the Party.
Now we have a new Obama beauty and she's slapping Hillary around with her cuteness.
And they say Obama doesn't fight back.
Although I wouldn't have thought this possible just a few weeks ago, I am entertaining the possibility of an Obama/Clinton ticket.
It is clear that between Obama and Hillary the Democrats have the vote to win in November. Despite Hillary's ability to rally the GOP against her, she has shown she has strong support in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
If this ticket went forward, this would allow Obama to govern without a Clinton coalition fighting against him in the congress - a very undesirable prospect. It would also allow Obama to adopt Hillary’s Healthcare Plan. She would also be second in line to the Presidency.
The challenge would be for Hillary to repair the damage she has inflicted on Obama these past few months? Can she do it?
Yes She Can.

The Superdelegate / Leadership Vacuum that is plaguing the Democratic Party.
Although I welcome all belated superdelegate support for Obama and find the news of Joe Andrew's shifting his support for Obama to be very positive, the last few months have nearly eviscerated my resolve for Leaders in the Democratic Party. I am wearing-down. I am tired of trying to calm the nerves of others, and my own, to reinvigorate their faith in the Democratic Party. I am tired of telling them that our leaders know what they are doing and being proven wrong later.I am also tired of "Waiting for their Indecision," which is more like a John Stewart skit than anything else.
This all reaffirms their incompetent role as the opposition party to the Bush administration these past seven years. In the end, they stood for nothing and rallied no concerted effort to stop; the war in Iraq, the illegal wiretapping, the use of torture, or any of the many other Moral Hazards of our day.
The Democrats are looking more like the Complicit Party.
I think the Jebreport has said it best.
"Superdelegates to blame for enabling destructive campaign"
"For most of this campaign, the Democratic Party has been unified by optimism that our eventual nominee would trounce the Republican candidate in November, 2008. That began to change towards the end of February, when the contest between Senators Clinton and Obama began to turn sharply negative."
"It's important to remember the state of the campaign in late February. At that point, 70% of the pledged delegates had been chosen. Barack Obama had 1,210 pledged delegates and Clinton had 1,044, a lead of 166. It was clear that Obama's pledged delegate lead was insurmountable.
Now, after two months of nastiness on the campaign trail, voters have selected another another 573 pledged delegates, 20% of the total. With just 10% remaining, the pledged delegate margin is virtually identical heading into May as it was in late February: Obama leads by 161. (He has has 1,494 and Clinton has 1,333.)"

Via The Carpetbagger Report
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/15380.htmlClinton, on the attack, takes to the airwaves on ‘gas-tax holiday’
"It’s one thing for a good presidential candidate to embrace a bad idea. It’s worse when the candidate knows it’s a bad idea. It’s worse still when the candidate attacks her rival for failing to embrace a bad idea. And it’s the worst when the candidate feels so strongly about the bad idea that she starts running television commercials about it.
And that, unfortunately, is exactly what we have in the case of Hillary Clinton and the “gas-tax holiday.” Her campaign unveiled a new TV ad yesterday in North Carolina and Indiana attacking Obama for not supporting a temporary suspension of the 18.4-cent federal gas tax."

Yeah, whenever you get caught with your HTML hanging out, it's embarrassing.
For an easier read:
Lest we forget. Under the Clinton Administration, Northwest Indiana did not share in the good times of the 1990's. During the Clinton Administration:
- 30,000 manufacturing jobs were lost - most in steel and steel related industries
- Unemployment in the region was the highest in 100 years. We still have not recovered.
-LTV Steel and a dozen other large industries went Out-of-Business, leaving workers and retirees without a safety net.
- wiping out worker and retiree pensions
- leaving them without an adequate job retraining program
- And without Universal Healthcare as promised- Irrational Exuberance and Accelerated Globalization promoted by the Clinton Administration encouraged the outsourcing of jobs without protecting our workers at home
- Inadequate Job Training: as technical advances allowed business' to be more productive with less labor, job retraining programs were never adequate or timely. This resulted in more new jobs created in NWI going to residents of Illinois.
- Unfair Trade Practices by China, Russia and other nations undercut and flooded the market with cheap steel without response from Clinton Administration
- NAFTA promoted and passed by the Clinton Administration opened the U.S. market to our neighbors and encouraged industries to relocate oversees; again without protection for our workers at home
- Public Corruption went out of control, leaving residents no recourse. In fact, our leadership began to work against us;
- as house cleaning was never initaited
- and good government initiatives never adoptSixteen years ago the Clinton's showed up in Northwest Indiana several times, not unlike they are doing today, and promised more Jobs, Universal Healthcare, improved Education , and a better Quality of Life. The same things they are promising us today - Sixteen years later. In the end, a lot of local politicians got rich and school kids got a free lunch - That's it.
