these people really give me heartburn...at some point someones got to ask them what they plan to do besides promise not to be obama, right? is that really enough for them this year? to promise that electing them means not electing a black man?
they have such and empty house in their heads.

Im actually pleased about this, as its always great news when that many people are interested in american politics. Its about time political speeches get watched by more people than American Idol.
Also, If I were a republican, id be worried having that many viewers tune into that nasty display. That was a speech for the converted, not for people yet to decide. It was tacky and contemptuous, which is a weird tone to have in a speech geared towards convincing the unconvinced. Best of luck to them with that. Makes me even happier to have Obama and the educated elite demeanor he brings to the office.

to be honest i dont think his comments were all that bad.. hes got a wierd delivery but hes just explaining his concern from a position that believes only soundbites work and are necessary for the public in an over-mediated culture.. he might be right, he might not. but he didnt say anything negative about obama really..his surprise at the polls means he thinks obamas an amazing candidate, and he just feels soundibtes would better let the public know that.
in other news.. i like the mccain banner on the right margin and how the campaign likes to use very old pictures of a young mccain instead of pictures of who wed be voting for.

im not sure Obama should run from the label of celebrity.. he certainly came about it through his own accomplishments and the hope people have in him to right the sinking ship that is America. IMHO he should confront the McCain attacks by pointing out why he is a celebrity even though he offers no upskirt shots, drunken videos, blockbuster movies (McCain), etc.. but hes a celebrity because of the supreme competence he can bring to the job, which has been lacking in american politics over the past 8 years, and which McCain clearly cannot provide himself. People are celebrities for reasons, and with some exceptions, its usually because of enormous expertise that excites millions of people. Obama has that expertise in politics to a degree we havent seen in decades. This should be a huge positive, not something to act ashamed of.

well, moveon existed pre-bush, and even in a post-bush obama presidency there will still be plenty of issues with regards to civil liberties, constitutional perspectives and organizational challenges regarding the needs of our country moving forward. moveon isnt engaged in some desperate relationship with bush, it was just thrust to higher visibility due to the great disrespect for our citizens that the current administration exhibited.

funny. being so trigger happy with accusing someone of "playing the race card" usually means you were being racist and are upset that it was noticed, so youre trying to deflect attention. i think i saw this the first time it ran during the obama v clinton primary.
the problem mccain is going to have is this kind of stuff might make some people question obama, but it certainly wont make anyone vote for mccain, but it will energize the 13% of the population that is black to turn out in higher than average voting numbers. i say let mccain do what ever he wants.. hes looking more deflated and old every day this goes on.

his loss...will be funny to see how hes treated when he needs something from president obama over the next 8 yrs.
its also funny how the democratic party has about 5 (so far) of the MOST liberal senators. amazing that kerry, kennedy, clinton, obama, boxer all hold that supreme designation.
