Randi Rhodes is onair right now and just played a tape of McCain, in 2000?, saying that he had run for president because it was his ambition to be president!
I was hoping that she might have a link to it on her website, but I don't see it.
It was pretty good and should be in an Obama ad!

I think that Barack WON! It is so nice to see intelligence at work instead of stump speeches.
I really think that a lot of people will get more used to Barack's 'intelligence' speaking and get really tired of hearing McCain's stump speech, even when he is in a forum like this, over and over and over again. There is nothing new there so McCain's hour was a total waste! It was his chance to say something different and new, or at least in a new way.
Warren told Barack... no stump speeches. He didn't say that to McCain and then even let him do stump speech after stump speech.
A little more humor on Barack's part maybe could have helped.

The McCain camp is running this ad about every half hour on every MSM channel (I don't get any cable channels except c-span) in Colorado.
Seems pretty desperate to me plus he is apparantly trying to spend all his primary money in swingstates, while he can.

Great Post!
Have you posted this on Military Times? Maybe in a slightly different format to fit the audience? It is really sad that, not only the Justice Dept, but all depts of the Federal Gov't and even the military have been politicized. Even Social Security offices only have Fox on and have big pictures of GW, Cheney & Rumsfeld on the wall, at least at the one nearest to me. Why Rummy I have no idea, maybe he was recruiting? I should drop in and see if they have a picture of Gates now.
From the reaction that Barack got from the troops in Kuwait, Afghanistan & Iraq, I suspect many of them have found ways to get information other than Fox. I hope that is a correct assumption.
Do you know if Ed Schultz is still aired on military radio?
Again, great post and your perspective explains a lot!

Disagree! It was actually Bill C. that was doing that. The Obama campaign and the supporters that I know, never referred to Jesse personally, but rather to his campaign, which, at that time, really didn't have a chance.

If you want to see his temper get more veterans like this one to challange his 'getting awards from all veteran organizations'.

DAV gives McCain a score of 20%, Obama gets a score of 80%.

I wrote a comment, that hasn't posted yet, about trying to build on what Media Matters has done but your suggestions are what could distinguish what raider is trying to do from MediaMatters... for example don't make it ideological but insist on a real journalistic code of ethics.
This could boost the 'clout' of what you are doing!Posted at July 13, 2008 4:04 PM in response to Mission Statement: Tools to Counter the MSM Distortions

Sometimes it is the tone/inflection/demeaner of the "journalist". One of those things that may be too subjective, but they get my goat all the time. Washington Journal on PBS can even be really bad with the tone/inflection/demeaner dimension.

I would like to see a beginning focus on things like the Sunday morning shows... push them to have real journalists with real facts, instead of idealogical opinion writers.
And be aware of little things... the other night on NBC news, Jim M(can't spell his name without looking it up) gave Obama's side of an economic issue, or maybe it was Iraq, and instead of then saying ... McCain's view is... he said "BUT McCain said..."
In my opinion the BUT shows bias.Maybe I am too picky but it sounded like Obama said this BUT of course McCain is right when he says this.
