"Half of Dems nationwide agree that Hillary's act of putting her name in nomination -- you know that heinous, scheming act at the heart of Hillary's plot to steal the convention for herself -- think it will help unify the party. Only 28% disagree."
Wasn't it about 28% of the american public disagree with the war on Iraq position of Bush? Sometimes, those bucking 'conventional wisdom' are right!

More than the McCain campaign, the corporate media has pushed this as the 'narrative' of the election cycle.
I agree about aggressively pushing back, but the question becomes - how do you do that against the corporate media?
I continue to wish that there were progressive 527's pushing back $ for $ and smear for smear.
I would like to see McCain's religion (Episcopalian turned politically convenient unbaptised Baptist) and preachers getting as much ad time as the repub 527's will be doing.
I would like to see McCain's wife(s) getting as much attention as the patriotism of Michelle Obama. I would put McCain's serial adultery and current, admitted junkie thief, wife up against Michelle any day.

I would prefer Dennis Kucinich. That would signal a clear desire for change from the political status quo.

This is a grossly unfair article and the comments are demeaning.
'Everyone knows' that a true American patriotic hero like John McCain would never lie. 'Everyone knows' that television preachers would never lie to advantage republicans.
Therefore, everyone knows that Pastor Rick told the truth and that Senator McCain was in a 'cone of silence'. To even imply otherwise is to demean the patriotism of John McCain and the MSM will not allow you to do that.

"Oh, and another reason Iran cannot nuke Israel is because they have no nukes and have no nuke program and have no way of attaining nukes in the near future."
Just because Iran has not started a war against another country for centuries and just because they don't have nukes is insufficient reason to stop Cheney from having them bombed!
After all, you don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud. After all, they are killing our boys in Iraq. After all, they are responsible for 9/11. After all, AIPAC and Likud want us to bomb them!

All Congresspersons take an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution and to uphold the laws of our country! Any democrat who is not willing to uphold their oath of office should be removed from any position of power.
This especially goes for the Nancy 'Screw the Constitution - Let's play politics' Pelosi and Harry 'Rethugnican Lite' Reid.
Support Sheehan's challenge to Pelosi!

As some of my middle aged racists friends have said "McCain is so bad, I guess I'll have to vote for the n*gg*r!"
And these are people who have never voted for a democrat!

Bayh is at best a Republicrat. There is zero that is progressive or democrat about him. He would be a terrible v.p. choice.
As a current (for a while longer) resident of Indiana, my observations are that any national perception of him being 'popular' in Indiana is incorrect. He has gotten where he is by being the son of an actually popular politician and by being a DLC 'centrist'.
To believe that he would carry Indiana by being on a democratic ticket is just plain wrong.
The analogy that I have made over the last ten years of living in Indiana is: If Jesus was on the presidential ballot as a Democrat and Satan was on the ballot as the Republican, it might make for a closer contest but the Republican would still win!

Reasons for Hillary Clinton Supporters to Vote for McCain
1) Health Care
The McCain Health Care Plan provides a $2500 tax credit for singles and a $5000 tax credit for families. It also removes tax incentives for businesses to provide medical insurance.
If you believe that telling people to ‘go get your own insurance’ is a better plan than Obama’s plan, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that a family, with or without preexisting medical conditions, can get quality health care insurance for $5000 a year, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that a family, that does not have a tax bill of $5000 to be credited, can get quality medical insurance for even less than $5000, you should vote for McCain.
2) Social Security
The McCain Social Security plan is basically a rehash of Bush’s Privatization, while denying that it is privatization. It calls for ‘younger’ workers to pay less Social Security and Medicare taxes and to put that into ‘Private Accounts’.
If you believe that telling people to ‘go get your own retirement’ is a better plan, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that the American workers would be better off if Bush’s plan had been implemented six years ago, you should vote for McCain.
3) War
The McCain plan for Iraq is continuing war. The McCain plan for Iran is “bomb, bomb, bomb…”. The McCain plan is to continuing killing Iraqis and having our military continue dying until we achieve (an undefined) win.
If you believe that war is peace, you should vote for McCain.
If you believe that ‘the only good raghead is a dead raghead’, you should vote for McCain.
If you believe that war should be the first option, rather than diplomacy, you should vote for McCain.
4) Women’s Reproductive Rights
McCain has proclaimed that his ideas of quality nominees to the Supreme Court are Scalia, Alito, and Roberts.
If you believe that men should decide on what medical care options are available for women, you should vote for McCain.
If you want to see Griswold vs. Connecticut (the real goal of the hardcore Right-To-Lifers) overturned, you should vote for McCain.
