How surprising - twisting the knife until the bitter end. Somehow Clinton has managed to diminish herself, her husband, her supporters, her opponent and her party.
To date, McCain appears to be the only winner from her campaign.
Both Clinton's now face a very steep burden to work to undo as much of this damage as possible.

Griffin's appointment is actually good news in my view. He has a very sullied background that any enterprising 527 can catapult into some quite effective "attack the messenger" spots.
We know that the Repugs will be playing with coded racial language and all sorts of meaningless but sleazy innuendo. Griffin sitting in the center of it all gives progressives a solid target to shift the focus back on the mud-slingers.
Can you picture the grainy pictures of Griffin in the RNC war room talking about making bullets, sitting in front of the judiciary committee excoriating him, cozying up to Rove as his sidekick and recalling his sleazy path to the US attorney position in Arkansas and his eventual tearful withdrawal? It's all sitting there on a platter to be carved and served. Not this time indeed. Mr Griffin, welcome to the spotlight!

I think that I just pissed in my pants. But it was worth the humiliation. Share the humiliation. Humiliation is the new black. In fact, black is the new black. Black is not white and never the twain shall meet. Black is so blackenly black. Y'all come black now - ya hear? Gotta run...and run...and run...and run...and run....et. al., passim, ibid, etcetera, fuggetaboudit, waddayagonnado? Seriously, I have to go loan myself another $11.4M. Byeblack byeblack for now. Be right black. Frau Hill.

Somebody needs to call her at 3:00am and explain that it's all over . . .
"HILLARY! YOU LOST! GO HOME TO CHICAGO, SCRANTON, ARKANSAS, CHAPPAQUA, WASHINGTON, NEW YORK CITY, THE WALMART BOARD, OR WHEREVER YOU WANT...EXCEPT THE WHITE HOUSE! FOLD THE BIG TENT! FORGET THE CROWN ROYAL! PUT AWAY THE GUNS! THERE'S NO SNIPER FIRE! OBAMA'S NOT A MUSLIM - AS FAR AS WE KNOW! YOU CAN DESECRATE THE FLAG! YOU CAN VOTE FOR THE WAR! YOU CAN DROP THE LANGUAGE OF GEORGE WALLACE! YOU DON'T HAVE TO OBLITERATE IRAN! TELL BILL TO GET BACK ON THE SPEAKER CIRCUIT TO REPAY YOURSELF! GO AWAY! LEAVE US ALONE! WE HAVE A DEMOCRATIC PROCESS TO CONDUCT! GO AWAAAAAY! JUST GO AWAY! NOW!"

She also was really evasive when asked
about the Clinton library donors, and
said the names would be "released when
she's president."TRANSLATION:

OK BobFred2. Please explain how this proposal will attract veto-proof majorities in both houses? Your hypthetical situation has a few too many "ifs" before it to be seriously considered.
BTW, TCFKaNCS's observations about "suspending" the operation of market forces by banning foreclosures is right on. Hillary might as proclaim the suspension of the laws of physics.
Hillary is really pathetic in the way she insults the intelligence of the country.

ECON-101
If you reduce the price of a commodity at a point when demand is highest, it will serve to increase demand and the price will be still further bid up. Oil companies must be laughing out loud.Price elasticity effects will most likely result in an even higher price at the end of the "holiday". Serious journalists should hammer Clinton on this and make her justify her illogical policy and the craven pandering that it represents. Hillary is demonstrating once again that she is definitely not worthy of the Presidency.

And how exactly will Hillary Clinton implement her gas tax "holiday" in time for this summer? Even if she joined forces with John McCain, there is no way that it would pass the legislative hurdles and might even inspire a Presidential veto.
This pandering proposal is exactly what the nation does not need - we need a real energy policy that will encourage research and production of renewable and cleaner sources of energy. We do not need an artificial and temporary price control measure during the period of peak demand. Hillary and McCain's hare brained idea will simply increase the profits for the oil companies by increasing demand further. That's insane economics and will ultimately hurt the very consumers paying the modest fixed rate tax. The fact is that this is just a bullshit distraction - because that's all she has got at this stage.
Hillary is revealing herself as the most power hungry and craven politician in a generation. She has the real potential to exceed Nixon in her deviousness. We have had ample warning to beware of letting Clinton back into the executive branch.

Clinton's proposal smacks of the deperation that her hapless campaign faces. It's not anyone's fault but her own that she has reigned over one of the most ignominous failures in modern political history.
For most of 2007 we read or heard the word "inevitable" alongside her name in every news report. She owns the Democratic party establishment, yet she has seriously lagged in fund raising. Now that she's staring down the barrel of a humiliating defeat, she is willing to tear down the prospects of the party in lieu of accepting the fact that she has miserably failed.
This on-on-one WWF cage match debate gimmick is just her latest attempt to create a freakshow hail-Mary moment to obstruct and delay in the hope that lightening might strike her superior vanquisher. Comparing her proposal to the "Lincoln Douglas" format demonstrates yet again that her campaign cannot seem to come up with anything that is not poorly researched and half baked before going public.
Please Superdelegates, oh please do the right thing and end this freakshow now.

Exactly - he's got no bloody business wading into this matter. Because of the Clinton's unseemly behavior, the USA is teeters from a pathetic international laughing stock under "W" to being compared to the dynastic democracy that now exists in Argntina. Now that's progress!
