  • I'll agree with those who say don't get complacent. We need to donate more to Obama and the Democrats to make sure they can compete with the Republican fundraising effort. McCain and the RNC are outspending Obama 3-1 on ads, and they just announced that they are going to be spending a lot more between now and their convention. I think we all got comfortable with the conventional wisdom that the Obama fundraising machine is unstoppable, but the Republicans are getting tons of cash from lobbyists and PACs and the rich, we need to start pouring in the grassroots donations to push back!

    So DONATE!:

  • If you have to edit for time, you edit out WHOLE questions and answers, you don't cut and paste answers to different questions. THAT IS DECEPTION, pure and simple. We rely on the media to accurately portray what the candidate's are saying, and they are essentially counterfeiting what the politicians are saying, and in this case they are doing it to protect McCain. How many other responses to questions have been edited and replaced and doctored?? We have no way of knowing, but given how the media is carrying McCain's water, this catch probably isn't the first time it has happened.

And yes, waiting for a real post on that.

  • Seriously, you are bringing up this nonsense while McCain is running around exploiting the Holocaust to attack Obama??

Yeah, he mentioned his family, big deal.

Urg, I can't stand the media, nor can I stand it when decent liberal media regurgitates the ridiculousness, the worst seems to be HuffPo.

  • I do think this has some backfire potential. It is obvious that Franken is serious about this, and he was a COMEDIAN, and the fact that Coleman can't beat him on the issues, and has to resort to attacking JOKES to win makes Coleman look pathetic. Franken just needs to come back with a really brilliant response to turn it around, like something Obama would come up with. It needs to be like his "Kennedy Catholic speech" moment, where he just puts it all behind him. He just needs to smack it down once and for all and embarrass Coleman in the process.

  • Well said. We need to treat this election like we are 10 points down in every poll in every state. We can't take anything for granted, we need to fight for this hard until the last polls close on election night.

And yes, time to donate more money people!

Posted at July 22, 2008 1:12 PM in response to New Poll Gives McCain Ten-Point Lead In Ohio

  • Um....I believe Obama's 16 month plan is because he thinks that is about the soonest the withdrawal and redeployments could be pulled off. In fact I believe the Republicans generally say it would take a lot longer than that, so I don't know where this 12 month crap is coming from. Obama never said he is going to drag his feet so it takes 16 months, that is just the most realistic timeline floating around.

Urg, these people are such idiots. Their spin is so...childish and idiotic...it must be very hard for the media to ignore it all and carry McCain's water for him.
