STOP THE PRESSES!!!
Okay, so it's an odd title for the blogosphere, but I am very excited here. Today, my local paper—a paper which endorsed Bush not once but twice—ran a very conciliatory editorial about Hillary’s concession, in which the editor essentially endorsed...more »

JUST SAY NO: DNC Turns Away Lobbyists and PACs
I actually cried when I read this (something about this campaign keeps getting stuck in my eye): http://democrats.org/a/2008/06/democratic_part_10.phpI am a flat broke (deeply in debt) single mother graduate student, and I had to make a donation when hearing this news. In...more »

A Concession By Any Other Name
Okay. So she indirectly dissed Obama and his supporters, and implied that maybe--or more than just maybe--she was not ready to give up the fight. It is her supporters' campaign, after all, (eh-hem) and she needs to hear from them...more »

One-post bloggers, or send in the trolls?
Has anyone else noticed a sudden increase in semi-articulate posts raving about the downfall of the Democratic party--or blatantly (and not even cleverly) bashing either one of the dem candidates or the other candidate's supporters? A quick background check shows many of these...more »

If Hillary wasn't being morose, then what to make of Bill's suggestion?
This from today's New York Times:"Still, the comments touched on one of the most sensitive aspects of the current presidential campaign — concern for Mr. Obama’s safety. And they come as Democrats have been talking increasingly of an Obama/Clinton ticket,...more »

An Invitation to Hillary Supporters or Common Ground Part III
I normally do not blog this much in one day (or in one week, for that matter), but in the true spirit of finding common ground--and in revulsion against the trolls who claim to support Obama--I would like to extend...more »

Why I Support Barack Obama or Remembering Our Common Ground Part II
Earlier today I posted my concerns about the Democratic divide—a plea, really, for us to remember why we are Democrats in the first place. But it was also a request. I would really like Obama supporters to take a few...more »

Hillary begging supporters to contact DNC--the rest of us better respond
Welp, Hillary's at it again. A new round of email pleas came out today, urging her supporters to contact the DNC to make the "right" decision about MI and FL. I am sure she'll get plenty of sympathetic folks who...more »

New London, CT. (theday.com)
There were also five very interesting letters to the editor: two very respectful, thoughtful, and concise replies to a GOPer who had previously written telling Hillary supporters to vote for McCain; one declaring that Obama should not be penalized for the words of his former pastor, which defended both Wright and Obama; one bemoaning the myriad ways in which our country suffers because the GOP is beholden to oil and corporate interests; and one detailing how oil interests have squashed fuel efficient technology.
So, my proposal is that the TPM community should put our brilliance into print where it can reach a broader and more diverse (think "swing voter")population. I was especially impressed with the arguments aimed at Hillary supporters, and plan to write a reply thanking the authors and supporting and expanding on their statements.
As I said, there has been plenty of press on the other side, and there are an awful lot of smart, articulate people here, so...

Thank you. A number of times my posts have been truncated, most frustratingly tonight, when I spent a lot of time writing a post only to find out it was cut off after the first paragraph.
The other day, I kept getting an error message saying my post was not going through, and then it showed up six or more times.
I really enjoy the dialogue here, but at times it feels like more trouble than it's worth.

Post Script: If anyone can tell me either (or both) how to prevent posts from being lopped off after the first paragraph or (and) where to direct a complaint, I would be very appreciative.
My original post was proposing a letters-to-the-editor writing campaign. Perhaps I should just stick with print.

This post had four more paragraphs, none of which showed up here. It's too late for me to re-type the whole damned thing, and it's too bad I wasted my time.
Sorry, but this is beyond frustrating.

HOLY CRAP--This blog is a disaster! Sorry for the mess, but the error message said my post had not gone through, and it didn't appear until I showed up as some demented blogosphere hydra.
Apologies to all.

I just inadvertenty posted the same thing seven times (or more? who knows when they may show up) due to an erroneous error message.
I give up.

These are acts of hatred, not desperation. Calculated, not desperate.
Rock throwing is a learned behavior, taught to children as a means to bait soldiers. The more fanatical Palestinians use their children as weapons. It is difficult to imagine a mindset in which this is honorable, but so it is.
And again, the atrocities we see--real and imagined--are a minority of incidents in hundereds of thousands of interactions every day.
I keep trying to post this with links, but my posts are not going through. I am going to have to give up for today because posting here is tedious, but I thank you for having this discussion with me.
