  • Obama Adopted by the Crow Indian Tribe

Here's an interesting and fun story from the LA Times:http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/obamaindians.htmlDuring this important and historical election, we've heard little about Indian nations. I don't know if other candidates have discussed issues of importance to the country's 557 federally recognized Tribes (located...more »

  • 401K -- it's all anyone who has one is thinking about. A friend of mine who works for a Los Angeles advertising agency just told me on the phone that her whole office is buzzing about the financial crisis and its effect on their 401Ks. Everyone's worried. I think that no matter how much mud McCain slings tonight, voters will have their "kitchen table" issues and their 401Ks on their minds, and will think far less of McCain for not caring about that.

  • For those people who are favoring McCain on the basis of personal qualities, how long before they abandon him, since he is showing his personal qualities to be dishonesty, dishonor, underhanded tactics and sleaze?

  • God, I hope Obama doesn't have a stupid brother somewhere that we don't know about. His sister is a smart talker and cool lady. McCain's brother is reminding me of Hugh Rodham and Billy Carter, always creating some kind of mess at the worst possible time.

  • We were always wondering why Obama and surrogates never brought up K5 before. I think there was a quiet, unofficial "gentlemen's agreement" behind the scenes between the two campaigns -- you don't bring up Keating 5 and we won't turn the cuckoo reverend loose or mention Ayers. Might explain why we haven't heard anything about Ayers and Wright until now. Anyway, desperation got the best of McCain's campaign, and they turned Palin loose. Once that happened, it was gloves off.

    I, too, think it's great!

  • I guarantee you that the rural Pennsylvanians I just visited two weeks ago also wouldn't get your post, either. All I know from talking with them is that they think McCain is an old fool who's probably much sicker than he's letting on, but will do anything to get the presidency, and that Sarah Palin is the biggest ditz to come down the pike in a long, long time. And no way, no how, could or should she ever come within sight of the White House. These white, hardworking bitter people who cling to their guns have told me they're voting for Obama, because the economic conditions where they live are the most abysmal I've ever seen them (I'm originally from the area).

  • Since I first heard of the Alaska Secession party, I thought the discussion should go to how unpatriotic it is to want to secede from the Union. Gloves off on this one -- let the 527s do it. But if they want to talk about associations, this one is huge. Especially when you start discussing how Alaska would be taking all its oil with it, and then we'd be dealing with another foreign country for oil. heheheh

  • I am way over this "do you really know who he is and what he believes" crap. I think Obama has, because of this persistent line, gone out of his way to make himself known. These guys just want to hang onto something that lets them continue to sow doubt, even though there's nothing there to hang onto. What really burns me is when people like Chris Matthews still repeat this line.

Posted at October 3, 2008 11:03 AM in response to Krauthammer Gives The Race To Obama

  • Oh come on! This "we don't know Obama very well" stuff got old long ago, when the GOPers kept repeating it over and over. What does Obama have to do to end this nonsense? He's laid his life story bare in books, TV documentaries, his own speeches, newspaper and magazine articles -- what's left? If this is true, then a lot of our population -- a lot more than we imagined -- is both illiterate and don't have a TV.
