  • It's a wonderful political slogan: "I was acquitted on all charges!"

Hey I would love for both seats to change parties. But I hope no one holds their breath waiting for Raul Martinez to be a Democratic hero.

  • I lived in South Florida for nearly 30 years. Raul Martinez is far from an ideal candidate, having endured (and ulimately survived) three successive trials on charges of extortion and racketeeting. I once lobbied him for a social service contract for a nonprofit organization I chaired. The belief was that he took care of his friends, and that if you wanted to do business with the City of Hialeah you needed the right contacts.

The Diaz-Balart brothers in my opinion are idiots; I was in Lincoln's district. If I were still there I would probably vote for anyone running against them.

  • Can you imagine a former President drawing a "crowd" of 80 people??

The local coverage in Charlotte reported that there were 80 people in the crowd at the VFW. 60 were VFW, and the other 20 showed up to catch a glimpse of the former President and were invited in to swell a progress.

The local coverage also reported that Clinton arrived an hour late because he was munching a veggie burger and watching the NCAA tournament in a nearby tavern.

It makes me wonder if Bill at least realizes Hillary has lost and no longer has his heart in this sham of a campaign.

  • Here is the problem: Penn says it so it becomes a headline. Who CARES what Penn says?

The only point in quoting Penn's statement should be to show (a) how idiotic it is and (b) how subversive of party unity it is.

The results of a primary vote shows nothing other than who the people who voted in the primary voted for. It does not show anything about the general election. And the polls, as quoted above, show that Obama would win the General Election in Pennsylvania and in the U.S.

  • I cannot understand how Hillary or her campaign can argue with a straigh face that the results in Florida or in Michigan can be counted. The most likely outcome, as I see it, is that Obama will secure the nomination after the existing primaries, when the superdelegates come forward with their support, and then tell Hillary she can have the delegates she claims in FL and MI, because it will no longer matter.

  • Every headline that has "Hillary" and "Monster" in it is hurting Hillary. She would have been much better just ignoring it. If it were Karl Rove I would suspect he planned the whole thing.

The Clintons a few weeks ago made Obama "the black candidate." More recently they put this Canada-NAFTA thing in the headlines, with no real charge that withstood critical scrutiny, and Rezko, although that too has no substance, and the Clintons know it.

The Clintons are masters of spin, but it looks like they were outspun here. I hate to see Obama playing the Clintons' game, but sometimes, those who live by the sword die by the sword.

Hillary keeps talking about how she has been vetted. The undeniable reality is that without even delving into more recent matters, like the fundraising for Bill CLinton's library, there is enough dirt on the Clintons to make ugly headlines for them for the next nine years if necessary. She is not electable. The nation has had more than enough of the Clintons.
