While Roberts will probably prove to be a very conservative judge, it's the price we pay for losing the Presidential elections so often. Bush will never nominate anything resembling a moderate. If Roberts represents the least objectionable conservative then let him, but the Senate should continue to insist on receiving the same documents the White House reviewed in vetting Roberts. The cult of secrecy and privilege of the Bushies is antithetical to a functioning democracy.
That said, my main concern on Roberts is that he is another Company Man for the Bush family. These people are establishing a federal government that is simply a patronage system as an extension of their own family system in which there is no accountability and only one prerequisite, blind loyalty.
Maybe the best thing to happen to progressives is the over-turning of Roe v. Wade. This country has allowed the right eviserate a woman's right to choose so that many women don't have access to safe abortions even if they have a right to them.

I see where Bush has come out and lowered his standards for firing someone on his staff in the Plame Affair. Now, the person has to be found guilty of the crime. Before it was being involved with leaking information about CIA agents. ABC political page has the gall to say Bush is "reiterating" his vow. News to ABC, changing your vow is not reiterating.
