  • Or you can have signs laminated at Kinkos or other copy places.

Anyway, there is no excuse for any of us not have signs tonight in our windows, yards or cars.

  • Oh, and here is a shameless plug for my son's fundraising page on barackobama.com:

To help him out I have committed to working one voter registration event for every 5 donors, and for making one phone call to a swing state for every $ he raises. I really like seeing the enthusiasm Obama inspires in these young people. All three of my children (ages 17-23) are actively involved with the campaign. I can barely keep up with them!!

Good point on voting early. I guess you need to know your own state's policies and ways to vote. Here, it is by a mail-in absentee paper ballot. I would refuse to use one of those Diebold touch screen machines too!

  • There are so many ways you can help.

If you are really nervous about talking to people start with a voter registration event. Everyone no matter who they are going to vote for are nice to people registering people to vote. I always wear my Obama shirt and so many people stop to thank me for registering voters.

Phone banking becomes a lot easier after just the 1st couple of phone calls. I found that it helps if while I am introducing myself I tell the person that I am new to it and am really nervous. They tend to be really nice, no matter who they are supporting. However, I find it even easier to canvas than to phone bank. Talking to people in person is surprising easy to do.

If you really can't do anything else, talk to all of your family and friends. Make sure that they are registered to vote (they can use the tools on www.barackobama.com to check their registration or register if necessary) and then make them commit to you personally that they will vote. Encourage them to vote early.

  • I actually haven't had this problem "on the ground." While I see it on on the internet and tv, every person I actually know who supported Hillary is now planning to vote for Obama. But then they always planned to vote for the Democratic nominee no matter who it was, as was I, even if it had been Hillary and even though I got very frustrated with her at times.

I do agree though that you have to let it go and let these people come to the realization in their own time that they would be hurting their own interests to vote for McCain. Including, of course, if they really want Hillary to run again. I think almost no matter who says or does what now (with the exception of a Spitzer-like scandal on Obama's part), if Obama loses in November the MSM punditry will blame Hillary. So if her supporters really want Hillary as a viable candidate in the future it is in their best interest to make sure Obama succeeds.

  • I looked it up and the mean age of people with dementia (also called Age-Related Cognitive Decline) is 72.4. From another article on dementia I found:

If the alarm bells are going off in your gut, listen to them. The early stages of brewing dementia are often quite subtle.

It can be deeply upsetting to the person experiencing the lapses - and often they can't recognize or acknowledge what is happening to them. They will do anything to deny a problem, cover it up, deflect your questions.
