Ok, I joined this site many months ago because I saw how we were fighting amongst ourselves as dems and wanted to push unity and a joint ticket...wanted to get people to see the good in both candidates (that didn't work).
I REALLY admired both candidates back then, but preferred Obama. Why did I like Hillary? Lots of reasons. Too many to list and more than enough to happily--proudly--vote for her.
Then I started to dislike Hillary's campaign style and started seeing more and more great things about Obama.
THEN Hillary went ballistic and infuriated me.
But then, strangely enough, the more she insisted on not dropping out, even when her odds were ridiculously low, the more I started liking her again. I would get a smile on my face when I saw reports of her stubborn determination.
She insisted on doing this her way and didn't give up or give in. Maybe it got messy along the way, but I have to say that my final impression is one of head-shaking amazement at the strength of her resolve. If Obama thinks she'd work well with him as VP, I'm back to liking that joint ticket idea. It'd be more than fine with me.

Eh. I watched the first few minutes, and it looked like she was being gracious and complimenting Obama quite a lot.
She can't be all down and defeated in front of a crowd of supporters like that, can she?
Granted, I didn't have the patience to watch the whole thing, but it seemed off to a good start.Posted at June 4, 2008 8:20 AM in response to Hillary Clinton's Primary Night Speech

I am happy to go to hillaryclinton.com and tell her what to do. No sweat.

You can add me to that list. Emma in Maine is also not mad that Clinton is losing.
I, too, am mad at the "feminist" Clinton supporters. Their stand is no better than any other single-issue reason for voting. Single-issue voters are a peeve of mine.
I feel empowered and enlightened by keeping a clear mind and an objective eye and selecting the best candidate for myself, regardless of race or gender...and without a group of angry women telling me how I should feel or what I should do.
I love your post.

She was quoted agreeing (emphatically) with the "disenfranchisement" of MI and FL many times...back when she thought this primary was a shoe-in. This is so nuts. She's embarrassing me as a woman and as a democrat.
Obama is clearly the better candidate and the lingering "feminist" bullsh*&t surrounding Hillary makes me mad. Give me a female candidate as inspiring and honest and revolutionary as BHO, and I'd sell my soul for her.
But Hillary? No. NO!!! SHE DOESN'T SPEAK FOR ME!!! She's becoming a joke.
Someone needs to get her out of the way. We've got a one in a million candidate here who can change the country and inspire a generation. And he seems to be the only one still treating Hillary with respect and decency. Huh. Go figure.

Yeah, I'd be mad if my pledged delegate swapped on his own initiative. That makes the whole voting thing seem pointless...except that most of the voting from here on out is pointless anyway.
Still, I was secretly hoping Hillary's plea to the pledged delegates to go against the voters and vote their conscience would bite her in the ass. Now it has. Oh, well.
She started this particular ball rolling herself.

The problem is, I don't think she supports me as a woman. I have an advanced degree but chose to stay home with my kids for 10 years before going back to work. To her, that's "baking cookies and having teas," right?
I try not to be snarky on here, but this comment of hers hit close to home. And now she's representing all women? Not me. She's not what I aspire to, and I don't think I am the kind of woman she'd have anything to do with in the real world.
I agree more with Obama's values than hers. I think a lot of women who look past the basic fact that Hillary is a female find that they have more in common with Barack Obama.
