It's exactly the sort of useless hype that I've sadly come to expect from Clinton and her campaign.

  • I will NOT vote for McCain! He's a warmonger!

I will NOT vote for Clinton! She's a warmonger!

  • Kensdad, as an Obama supporter, I value hearing defenses of HRC, because I want to be sure I'm supporting the best candidate. This particular defense only confirms my feeling that HRC is a follower, not a leader. She followed GWB, she followed the polls, she followed public hysteria.

Not what I want in a President, sorry.

  • Oh, for heaven(or some atheistic substitute concept)'s sake! How many tens of millions of bright young people are there in this country?? Can't we let someone other than a Bush or a Clinton have a turn???

I heard about some guy named Osama or something. What about him?

  • It's not the media who makes Obama look good, it's Obama (in this case with some help from Hillary). I was cringing as he initially refused to reject Farrakahn's support. He was going to end it that way, which would have been bad for him. Hillary would have done best to just stay out of it, but no! She has to step in and try to show how much better she is; she *rejected* the support of antisemites. So then Obama comes back with a nifty jujitsu move that (1) elimnates the bad taste left by his initial refusal to reject, and (2) makes Hillary look petty. A brilliant recovery.

  • Excellent post. A key point is that unrestrained 527 spending really undercuts the whole notion of public financing. As much as I would like to see it happen, there seems to be no way to restrict spending money by "independent" groups on "free speech" that would pass muster with SCOTUS. Obama needs to emphasize this when he rejects public financing.

  • Oops. that was supposed to be a reply to Greg about 20 posts up ... just trying to teach a little math to y'all.

Speaking of which, the pollster.com trend lines appear to be human guesswork, not any sort of actual regression ... anyone delved into their minutiae deeply enough to know if this is right?

  • Face it, every time the Clinton campaign does anything that smacks of, you know, campaigning, Obama's supporters get the vapors, and everything's "slimy" and "Rovian."

It seems to me that Hillary's "Shame on you, Barack Obama" smacked of something a bit more egregious than "campaigning".

And it was Hillary who accused Obama of Rovian tactics, not the other way around.

  • Great post. Thank you for reminding us of what Obama actually says. It's a bracing antidote to Hillary's pathetic and insipid attacks.
