Obama Wants to buy off religous vote
According to the AP, Barack Obama wants to continue and expand Bush's "faith-based" (or "religious") funding programs. Funny how Obama didn't bring this up in the primary. These religious funding programs corrupt churches and the government, both. From the little...more »

Paul Begala Apes Ronald Reagan
Clinton backer Paul Begala sunk to new lows on CNN yesterday. Begala goes out of his way to repeat and reinforce the Republican stereotype against liberals, describing us as "Volvo drivin', NPR tote bag totin'" liberals. Memo to Paul Begala:...more »

TIme to blogswarm AP/biased media
Josh Marshall flags some shameless shilling for John McCain from the Associated Press. We've seen this enough times in enough elections to know the biased reporting has only just begun. Well, we need to start pushing back early. Four years...more »

I think Ben deserves credit for having suffered through this long enough to edit it. And I think we can be fairly sure most of those million-plus views are single time views because how many people could bear to watch that more than once?
Hey, I look at car accidents but Sarah Palin is too much too handle. McCain, you fool.

Gee, you can just hear those brass balls clanging. Not so much.
But, you know, if Rham was talking about a liberal? Oh, he'd be Mr Tough Guy allright pushing the DLC line, allright.

Well, this is getting a bit better. But Obama and his campaign need to keep hitting back hard against McCain.
And they need to STOP SAYING WHAT A GREAT PATRIOT MCCAIN IS! Stop praising your opponent, damn it!
This is not going to decided in some Ivy League debate hall, for Pete's sake.
Michael Moore is spot-on that that's a way to lose this election.
If you want to help elect McCain, keep blessing him as if he were the white knight who accidentally hopped on the wrong horse. Keep reminding a country at war that he, and he alone, is a war hero. That he's been "good on global warming" and campaign finance. Say that enough, and you know what happens? People start to believe it! You've sold them on the idea that McCain isn't a bad egg, and they do not hear the rest of what you have to say: "But John McCain is four more years of George W. Bush."

Memo to Bob Kerrey: STFU.
This is exactly the type of guy we don't need. Someone more interested in placating the Villagers and making himself seem high and mighty while hurting his candidate.
Geez, what a wanker!

Well, it's about time the Obama campaign got this ad out there. They should have been responding with humor, derision and mocking for some time now.
Instead, we've seen responses like Kerry's to the Swift Boat ads. Near silence.
Next, let's hit back on the "elitist" charge. 9 homes, $500 shoes, out of touch with working people. Did I mention $500 shoes?

"I really wonder whether the Obama camp should be confronting the "celeb" thing a bit more directly, though I confess I'm not sure how one would do that."
My two cents: Do a commercial portraying John McCain as a celebrity, or better yet, "a media darling".
Clips of McCain on Letterman, cameos in movies, etc. Then suggest he's just "grumpy" (always reinforce the grumpy) that he's been bested at his own game.

"This is classic Rove - turn your opponents strength into their weakness."
That's nearly verbatim what I was going to post.
And, I'd add it's bizarre that popularity is made out to be a weakness. I think this Rovian tactic may have jumped the shark -- or the tracks.
And, to make the international support for Obama a negative is also a bit weird in these times when our nation has increasingly become a pariah.
I just hope the Obama camp doesn't respond in typical Dem fashion - ignore it and hope it goes away. they need to hit back hard.

Sounds like oil company executives were laundering money to the McCain campaign. Either that, or Hess and Amtrak pay their employees rather handsomely.
