Everyone's May 20 goals can be accomplished without Clinton continuing to pound on Obama. If she continues with the "he listens to experts, I listen to you" stuff, and her surrogates continue with the "he has no balls" stuff, then the benefits of avoiding that embarrassment are outweighed. Not to mention that she's spending real money to do this.
One other quibble: if by some chance she isn't aiming at a May 20 departure date, we can expect to hear two solid weeks of arguments that Obama isn't getting the pledged delegate lead on the 20th because his majority doesn't count MI and FL. To the extent these arguments gain traction, the handy excuse that Oregon will provide for fence sitters to jump will be put in doubt. The next concrete milestone would be June 3, when the last of the votes is finished.
I hope you're right, Fly. But I fear this goes to June, just as her campaign has promised.

I have admired Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, for many years, all the way back to when he used to appear on Youngbloods, a call-in political show on the now-defunct conservative network. This despite the fact that I think his political views are nutty.
He is one of those guys who has no respect for authority, no desire to be a player in the system, and thus no conflicting career or political agendas to get in the way of saying and doing what he thinks is right. He's my kind of guy, even though again, he's a pretty nutty right winger.
Lots of people in Washington come to believe that intellectual integrity and ethical consistency are luxuries that you can't afford if you want to accomplish anything. Fitton never bought into that, and that is why he attacks everyone in government regardless of their politics.

I'll defend Hillary: what she said was a metaphor. Sure, she didn't skip the ceremony and run for cover with her head down. But she was scared for her life.
If you look carefully at her pants in the video, you can see that she peed a little bit. And isn't the truth of pants-pissing fear more important than the difference between running for cover and listening to an 8-year-old's poem?

You don't need to leave it blank. Just vote for Nader like the rest of the d-bag "liberals" who would rather see this country and the world spiral further down the drain due to immaturity and god knows what other kinds of mental problems.

Awesome insight again, Fly. It is particularly chilling to contemplate this indecisive quality in Sen. Clinton when reflecting on the warring factions between State/CIA and Pentagon/OVP that led us into disaster.

It's funny that, no matter their political views, many people seem to think of the NYT as a powerful entity acting with purpose to achieve a goal. The liberal NYT is out to destroy McCain! The bloodthirsty NYT is pushing us into war! And so on.
Over the past decade or so, starting around the time of Wen Ho Lee, I have increasingly viewed the actions of the NYT through a different lens. Many people I've discussed this with think my view is oversimplified, reductionist, or flat-out false, but it explains almost everything that happens there. I invite you to consider:
The New York Times is a shitty newspaper. They have tremendous resources and a number of fantastic reporters, but on the whole the organization sucks.

They must know something. With all the talk about WI being a possible opportunity for Clinton to halt Obama's momentum, if I were in her shoes I would stay and claw for every single vote. I'd be standing at the polling places shaking hands first thing in the morning to get one last hit of free press before taking off.
No matter what, though, she won't be able to spin this as a state where she didn't try.
