  • I'm quite curious what it is Mr. Baer thinks Bush should do. Clearly we align with Israel every chance we get. Clearly Hezbollah and Iran does not listen to American presidents, and neither to their people. So aside from telling Israel to calm down (or increase if it so fits Mr. Baer's fantasy) their military actions, or tell Israel to reach out farther diplomatically (maybe I suggest impossible if they are still bombing them,) what would you like Bush to do?

I'm no fan of our president. But it seems to me that much of the animosity the Middle East has toward America is our tendency to meddle in their affairs. Unless someone can put forth workable solutions and actions, we need to watch from the sidelines.

  • Where is your compassion for the American citizens who are homeless, impoverished and barely subsisting...you know all those faces you saw for THREE days stranded during Katrina...THE AMERICAN WORKING POOR.

You don't have to reject one group to help another. Thats the liberal way. If I had my way, we wouldn't just be rolling back the Bush tax cuts, we would be increasing taxes to fund even larger and robust programs for the impoverished in this country, no matter what their legal status.

just spin the facts using emotion...even make others 'hostile' to justify your 'bleeding heart' compassion.

Considering I stated no facts, I don't see how you can say I spun anything. I stated that your words appears to some to be hostile. Frankly, the way you are responding to me by being even more hostile just proves my point.

  • Seriously though, if you wonder why some liberals have beefs with you, its not necessarily because of your position. Hell, half of my friends are of the same opinion. But IMHO, its the level of hostility. All those caps are not just yelling, but seems degrading. Its just a bit tough for some of us to accept that amount of hostility toward a seriously impoverished group. Call us bleeding heart or unrealistic, fine, but thats just how we approach the subject.

  • Then perhaps you are tone death.

Or perhaps people don't like being accused of being dead. Really freaks people out, man.

  • That is all fine and well Matt. However, while you can be for conservation and also for Wind Power in appropriate places, you also need to be consistent here. If Kennedy is going to support wind farms in other areas where the residents object based on visual elements, instead of just sounding hypocritical, he's actually going to be hypocritical. Wind Power takes sacrifices in that respect. Viewing this issue in a broader sense might sound good on paper, but practically speaking, this is the not the way people perceive it when they read it in this mornings paper. Sounds like a political problem that can easily impact and taint policy.

  • theCoach is right. Although, as a resident of MA, I do not consider Romney's religion even one bit when thinking about his policies and positions. Its too bad religion can't stay out of politics.

  • I for one welcome a physical game, so long as the refs are good enough to distinguish accident from intent. But I'm afraid the arrogant, biased group of weasels currently running the floor with the athletes won't.
