  • liam, you get an A+ for boiling it down to foreign influence in elections and in foreign policy decisions.

I want the media and the pollsters to let us know what the Greeks, the Poles, the Chinese, the Nigerians, the Brasilians in our fair country think about our upcoming election and the candidates?

I hear nothing from the "traditional" media about aforementioned.

  • I've listened closely to Obama explain to those who might vote for him say something like that voting for him isn't reconciliation on the cheap. I wonder if everyone was paying attention?

It is going to take some heavy lifting, deep conversations and a lot tissue to hear about the unpleasant aspects of American history. There is American history and then there is history about the people in America.

We can't go---although we might try--to move forward without some sort of mutual understanding
where we have been and where we are going.

And it is more than black and white people. It includes Latinos, Asians and Native Americans because they have a history in this place too.

  • Alex39, I couldn't agree more. I think there is scale or continuum of masculinity. Perhaps men may have a so-called "man-crush" or they may just be tired of all the bullshit and false consciousness that we have had in this past seven years. Look where it has gotten us. Up a MF creek and we can't afford the paddle.

  • Newsom isn't far-left enough for San Francisco. He just repealed the sanctuary for so-called illegals. That might serve him well in the short run; he has a few progressive positions, he looks the part but he has an up hill climb because Southern California has much more say in State-wide elections than Northern California. Los Angeles' mayor may also put his name in the hat along with Jerry Brown

  • Sherri is the other woman on The View. I watch it via the Internet only when my mother tells me that something marginally political happened during the "hot topics" segment.

Whoopi was telling her that her mother (Whoopi's mother) wasn't allowed to vote a good part of her life because she was black so Elisabeth didn't understand that black people just might discuss life experiences among ourselves a bit differently than if we did so in front of other ethnic groups. Elisabeth doesn't get it. It is real. Some people, even though they wewre and are U.S. citizens didn't get to vote their entire lives and others part of their lives. And yes, black talk to other black people how we are and were treated and mistreated in United States. It probably the greatest safety valve.

  • What is--if there is- the real, clear and present threat perhaps danger (I don't know the right word) if black people say, "let's be black together?"
