Obama wins the Peace Prize - Bolton gets the War Prize (and an even lower place in hell).

Bolton is a danger to humanity, as is anyone who recommends the use of nuclear weapons and ignores the terrible consequences of mass death, mutilation and radiation-induced cancer, in possibly thousands of innocent people far from the original strike. Sometimes as far away as another country and another continent.

The radiation fallout from Chernobyl reached Scotland, in the north of Britain and caused dangerous conditions that affected the food chain, many thousands of miles from ground zero, at the Russian power station where the accident occurred.

People such as Bolton should be confined to a specially located place designed for irresponsible warmongers, and their families, who wish to bomb other people with WMD, in their alleged wonderful panacea that will bring world peace. It is crap, not ordinary crap but the kind of crap that contaminates us all, if it is allowed.

Bolton is a throwback to McCarthy - an idiosyncratic, anachronistic, misguided, political 'has been' who still craves the limelight and produces ever more devious machinations in order to get himself there.

Listen to Bolton and every synagogue and campus Chabad House in the world turns into a active soft target, every institution from hospital to university with the label 'Jewish' is infinitely more at risk than it is today.

There is no such thing as a surgical nuclear strike and both the newly revealed nuclear site and the main Iranian facility at Natanz are disturbingly close to the holy city of Qom, let the wind be blowing the wrong way and we radiate the top leadership of world Shi'ia. Somehow I don't want to speculate about the tone of the Fatwas from the Ayatollahs.

At this point Bolton is more an existential threat to world Jewry than Mr. I'm A Dinner Jacket could ever be.

With all respect, that is not what Bolton is advocating. He seems to be stating the seriousness of the situation and the lack of alternatives and options in dealing with Iran. I think that he is overlooking many options that President Obama has and may use. It is not as dire as he suggests, but it will become so. Iran has a very dangerous regime, and is a danger not only to Israel but also to the rest of the Middle East and to the rest of the world. They should not be allowed to obtain and use nuclear weapons. The US has nuclear weapons, Israel has them, and so do many other countries, but these countries are not threatening other countries with total destruction. I have friends in Iran and I can assure you that this is not the goal of the average Iranian. The good Iranian people are entirely different from the crazy government in Iran with their hateful rhetoric and dangerous philosophy. It is important to separate the people of a country from the governments of them. I believe that Iran must be stopped before they obtain more military might with the assistance of Russia.

Bolton is an arrogant chickenhawk with a long career of ticking people off while accomplishing absolute zilch. It is an utter disgrace to have such a person anywhere near the corridors of international diplomacy and the attempt to make him a permanent UN ambassador represents one of the rare occasions when Congressional Democrats managed to locate backbones in their bodies.

This latest nonsense about a first strike (does this rude buffoon think we have forgotten than Israel never talks about nukes except to say that it will not be the first to use them in the Mideast?) sounds like a paid political advertisement for Ahmadinejad, except Bolton already has a job being a hack for international arms proliferater. These outrageous remarks qualify him for a one way ticket to West Pakistan. If he actually believes in anything other than his own rudeness he can show it there.

Given his demonstrated cowardice, Persona Non Grata status may be all the civilized world can do for the time being.

Can't we all just intervene somehow and have Mr. Bolton committed to a psychiatric institution for the criminally insane?

Seems to me that since Israel is the one that has the nuclear weapons that THEY are the ones who should be nuked, not Iran. After all, if a nuclear war is needed to stop a nuclear war, doesn't it make more sense to attack the ones WITH nuclear weapons, not those without.

Before anyone gets too upset, how is this hypothesis any different from Bolton's? And it serves the opposite purpose, "shift the boundaries" but this time to the left.

While a nuclear Iran would be disturbing for the US, it is not a reality that could not be contained and the US has the capacity to eliminate Iran if that country chose to use nuclear weapons.

Israel can have a different view, but the truth is, short of using its own nuclear weapons against Iran, Israel lacks the military resources to significantly damage Iran's nuclear ambitions. They could not carry out the several week bombing campaign that would be required. Even if they could the Pentagon estimates that it would only set Iran back several years.

Only a full invasion of Iran would result in changing that reality and Israel, as good as its military is, lacks the capability to project it power so far from its borders.

Bolton's and the neo cons game is to use the threat of Israeli action to goad the US into acting. The transparency of this is so evident that its laughable. I assume there are still rational actors in the Israeli government, even the current one, and on balance it is difficult to see the advantage to Israel by conducting a first nuclear strike. The outrage of the world against them would be total and they could not count on US backing beyond the neo cons and American Jewry and I'm not sure about Israel's coreligionists support.

I'm just curious as to where the Israel should unload its nuclear arsenal. As an American citizen, who was born and raised more than half of his life in Iran, I would like to know a proposed location where they'll drop an H-bomb -- assuming the atomic bombs are a thing of the past. Considering the H-bombs basically can take a chunk of this planet's limb like a super crocodile biting into a spring lamb, the world wide panic would be of epical proportion.

Just imagine waking up tomorrow morning and hear, "10 million people were incinerated in the span of less than 10 minutes... ensuing a global social unrest and economical turmoil... Dow drops by 90%, closing below 1,000... Oil hits $1000/barrel... every country's military is put on the highest alert... international ban on traveling and shipping goods are issued by all 190+ UN members..." and the headlines read,

"World War Annihilation. Hello Armageddon!"

And Bolton waltz on the next drollery cable show, sleeves pulled up, promulgating:

"Now, let's get to work. Eternal peace is in the arm reach."

I think what he means is that MJ and J-Street not only make no sense (after all, America survived being a non-democratic occupying power that practices Apartheid...and why in the world would Israel take the word of some Arab thug for aqnything?)but they are playing right into Bolton's gambit by taking the let'm nuke them idea seriously...it's a pitch in the dirt...don't swing at it...instead, ask the neo-cons why we keep supporting dictators? I also think he means if you take the time to read a "good" book, like say, The Quiet American, or Black Box, or Past Continuous, you find that some of the most perceptive people in the world keep coming to the same conclusion - there is never going to be peace in the Middle East...because there is never peace anywhere...can you name the last time America was not fighting a war, getting over a war, or getting set to start another one?
