Lobby Group: Freezing Settlements Is "Ethnic Cleansing"
The Israel Project, about as official a part of the lobby as you can find, is advising its members to ignore questions about the settlement issue with the charge that opposing settlements is "ethnic cleansing."
It is, in much of the same way that it would be ethnic cleansing if a bunch of Norwegians moved into my house, without my permission, and I called the cops to throw them out.
And in another sign of how unhinged the right is about President Obama's settlement freeze, Netanyahu publicly told the German Foreign Minister that the West Bank will never be "judenrein." That was the Nazi term meaning free of Jews.
I'm no Netanyahu fan but there is no way he would invoke Nazism to a German leader unless he was flipping out. Germany, for obvious reasons, is Israel's staunchest ally and -- even though Berlin knows the occupation is wrong -- backs Israel's position because of the actions of the Third Reich.
Even Bibi would not insult the Germans this way. Unless he's losing it.
Attacks on opponents of settlements as supporting ethnic cleansing or making the West Bank judenrein is real projection. It's like when Nixon, in his farewell address, said "always remember others may hate you, but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself."
He didn't know he was talking about himself.

Your house? What makes it yours? We all live on stolen land but guys like you always try to change the rules after you've got yours. It never works for very long because all those who don't yet have theirs never forget that you're a thief or a purchaser of stolen property.
So you better stay close to your mommy's skirts, little man, because you're not safe...and you'll be even less so once the soldiers who protect you find out you've been saying bad things about them.

What the hell are you talking about?
If this wasn't so incoherent, it would seem like a threat. Making you a troll of the highest order.

Better point: If removing Jewish settlers is "ethnic cleansing," then how do you avoid a binational state? So the choice is between apartheid--permanent non-citizenship and Occupation for Palestinians in the West Bank--or "ethnic cleansing."

You mistake political manoevering and propaganda for reality. In reality all cultures favor their own and all peoples, neighborhoods, tribes and states protect their borders, or, in other words, engage in ethnic cleansing.

This is what you may not understand. There are many; including myself, who seek to extend our consciences to look at that which does not look like me or talk like me and yet to still see myself. It is the core of progressive thought to fight for equity. That is why our reasoning seems alien to you and yours to many of us.

It means exactly what it says, that we all live on stolen land. That no one has the right to accuse others of theft unless the context is very, very clear. It means that making and keeping a state is a hard, hard business. That the rules which apply within a state most definitely do not apply between states. That police and armies are necessities. If you still can't understand get help.
By the way, why do you suppose Rosenberg chose Norwegians in his example? Norway is the most peaceful, law-abiding country on earth and its citizens haven't engaged in the seizure of land from others since the Viking age.
Rosenberg lives in an all-Jewish neighborhood and never sees anyone but Jews. Since he thinks Jews (actually American and Russian Jews living "illegally" on the West Bank) are the biggest thieves on earth, why didn't he say "if a bunch of kikes had moved into my house without my permission..."?

Nice verbal jujitsu. First, you claim we are all guilty, so who can judge? Second, you go after MJ because he supposedly lives in an "all Jewish neighborhood." Unless MJ lives in a nursing home, I doubt an "all Jewish neighborhood" exists in D.C. So you are just making stuff up. Like you usually do.
Do you think that God actually gives people awards for proving they are the most Jewish Jews in the world? (Even if He did, Alan Dershowitz is way ahead of you.)

Bibi has learnt from his neocon sponsors. Their favorite rhetorical gambit is to accuse their opponents of what they are doing themselves. In this case, Bibi is claiming that opposition to Israel's incremental ethnic cleansing of the West Bank is itself ethnic cleansing.

Over looked point: Having Jewish citizens of a Palestinians would be good for the Palestinians. Do you really think that Israel will treat the State of Palestine better without Jews in it, than with them in it?
Imagine how hard it will be Bibi to starve and blockade mixed Jewish and Arab streets.

Hmmm...I always had the impression that Nixon knew very well that he was talking about himself, and that that part of the farewell speech was a confessional moment following the mental breakdown of the "final days".

I watched the speech on youtube last night. I don't think so. But who knows? He was such a strange man.
