Bored to tears. Sorry. This story has been told, nonstop, leading nowhere, for decades. Now it is nothing but undiluted odium.
Educated worldly Americans should care about this situation. But the story reads now like a bad novel: way, way too long; going nowhere; pointless squalid crimes; no sympathetic characters ...
Can they just wrap it up, please ? Skip the thousand and three reasons for not doing so. Draw a border and knock off the nonsense. Race wars, religious wars are not the thing any more.
Alternative scenario : tell the Americans they are off the hook. Refuse to take American government money and arms. Then do whatever you please. We will agree not to pay attention.
