Lest We Forget: Michael Goldfarb's Greatest Moment (Delicious)
Josh and others are reporting on neocon, Michael Goldfarb's, attack on a former McCain campaign aide for going to work for an environmental organization.
"He's dead to me," said Goldfarb.
But here is the moment Goldfarb became dead to the McCain campaign. It was in October. Goldfarb was on CNN accusing Obama of running around with an anti-semite.
Rick Sanchez demands that he name the anti-semite. Goldfarb is flummoxed. McCain has banned mention of Rev. Wright's name. But that is who Goldfarb is talking about. What to do? What to do? Sheer Quayle-like terror! What if McCain is watching?
Enjoy yet again one of the worst moments any campaign apparatchik has ever endured on national television.
It is said that afterward McCain told his staff, "Goldfarb is dead to me. Who is he anyway."
Okay, I made that up. But I didn't make up this excruciatingly glorious clip.

Sanchez handled that beautifully. Maybe Goldfarb has spent to much time around Fox Noisers, the high priests of innuendo.
BTW, Khalidi is not anti-Semitic. He is a Palestinian and doesn't accept that wanting his people to live in their own land makes him a bigot.
Let's bury that illegimate charge right now.

Good point.
Also, it always has to be pointed out: Palestinians are Semitic people. Calling someone of Palestinian descent "antisemitic" is pro-moronic.
Much is known about the persecution of Jews in Europe and America. However, it should be pointed out that Jews had prosperous communities in Europe to be persecuted, while Arabs did not and would not be allowed to being considered "black" in many cases, compared with the light skinned Ashkenazi Jews who are European going back millennium.
From the description given by this Goldfarb goon, some may imagine "Khalidi the antisemite" as a turbaned character toting a Kalashnikov rifle, as opposed to the blue eyed, tweedy, university professor, who I must say would usually be mistaken for Jewish in the US. He's also for a two state solution and argues that during the early 20th century, while Europe and the US actually were viciously antisemitic, especially the Evangelical Christians who now compose the Religious Right of the Republican party, Jews and Arabs lived side by side in relative peace in the Palestinian region.
Here's his Wiki with photo.

Does anyone remember Fox New stalking Khalidi in New York? It was one of the most appalling things I have ever seen.

Appreciate this bit 2008 electoral history, e.g. exposing the boob on the tube, but this also raises the question of what CNN was doing playing soap opera gotcha games with such clowns to begin with. Were there not a just a few slightly important foreign or domestic POLICY questions in the presidential campaign to discuss and report upon?

He also remembers quotes by interviewees after they die. Now that is impressive. Kinda hard to fact check, though.

Really glad I got to see that clip again. The frickin smirk on his face as he says, "I think we know who I am talking about" met with Sanchez's, "OK, who?"
And oh yeah Khalidi is about as Anti-semitic as Goldfarb! Both of these comments lack any sort of substance or rationality and don't deserve any sort of discourse because of their lack of information. However on a better note they fit quite nicely in the 24-hour news cycle.

Where did they find that "YO!" goon anyways? The Jersey Turnpike?
Googling Goldfarb, Epic FAIL:
"He was previously the online editor for The Weekly Standard, which he took a leave of absence from to work on the campaign.
He has a B.A. in history from Princeton University
While at The Weekly Standard, Goldfarb was the first to raise doubts about the veracity of Scott Beauchamp's then-anonymous Iraq reporting for The New Republic.[6][7] The only named military source in Goldfarb's original piece was conservative pro-war activist and former gay porn actor Matt Sanchez[8][9]. In April 2009, Beauchamp's Staff Sergent John Hatley was convicted of the premeditated murder of 4 Iraqi civilians, murder that he committed at the time Beauchamp was alleging recklessness by troops in Iraq. Hatley had written a blog entry defending himself and his fellow soldiers against charges of recklessness"
Conservative FAIL, journalist FAIL, integrity FAIL, academic FAIL.

RE: "Who was Goldfarb talking about?"
MY COMMENT: Your guess is as good as mine. Wright or Farrakhan?
EXCERPT- Goldfarb: "Look, you're missing the point again, Rick. The point is that Barack Obama has a long track record of being around anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and anti-American rhetoric."
[snip]
Sanchez: "You said he hangs around with people who are anti-Semitic. OK, we got Khalidi on the table. Give me number two. Who's the other anti-Semitic person that he hangs around with that we, quote, all know about."
[snip]
Goldfarb: "Rick, we both know who Number Two is." [Silence]
...Obviously, Goldfarb realized he had gone too far, probably because he knew that bringing up Louis Farrakhan had been ruled out by his superiors for this campaign, and with good reason: It's a completely specious claim and old news to boot...
