Netherland

As you may have heard, the President is now reading Joseph O'Neill's Netherland, a novel about playing cricket in New York, and the American Dream, and so forth. Excellent choice, POTUS. We here at Cafe also love Netherland, and you can check out our book club discussion of it last summer here. Enjoy.

Off subject, but the word "Netherland" caught my eye.

I was in the Netherlands during WWII. I bought a pair of wooden shoes and sent them home to my Mother. The shoes still exist.

I am planning to buy it if no other reason that our President is reading it. I would love to know why he selected this particular book. I guess I just like knowing everything about our Pres.
