Hillary Tears Rep. Chris Smith A New One On Abortion Rights -- Netanyahu UP Next
Any doubt that the election of Obama has changed our country gets dispelled here.
For decades, white male Christianist Rep. Chris Smiith has fought to block family planning because it offends his Catholic faith. (Hey, eating pork offends Robert Wexler's and Keith Ellison's faiths but they don't deny the rest of us the right to eat barbecue til we explode!)..
Until Clinton, everyone has deferred to this bully.
No more. BRAVA.
Hillary's next Chris Smith is named Bibi.

Let's see. Abortion is a legally sanctioned operative procedure. Torture is illegal by international laws, to which we are signatories.
The far right argues against abortion as though it IS illegal, and they argue FOR torture because they think IT WORKS.
Is there no honor among those thieves? No, I guess not.

Hmmm. Perhaps the way to get Repubs to stop placing barriers in the way of family planning is to promise that all abortions will be preceded by torture? That should swing at least a few of them over to supporting family planning.

Think she'll be the new V.P. on Obama's ticket if he runs for re-election? I'm finding myself hoping she is...

You want to kick Uncle Joey to the curb? For shame.

Well, when you put it like that...LOL. Seriously, hasn't he outlived his usefulness already?

I don't think that's a very big if. If he's alive, he'll run. One could say that he's already running.

Wait, you think Biden will run in 2016? I hadn't even considered that possibility. He's so old.

Silly girl!

It was rather apparent to me last June - when Hillary ceded to Barack instead of forcing a convention floor fight or going independent - that she was playing the team angle to preserve her viability within the party for 2016.
She will be 68. McSame just ran at 72, so it's not inconceivable of course. But Biden came out a winner in the '08 primary mess, and figures at this moment to be large in 2016. As does Hillary.
At this moment. 8 years is forever, and whom, may be the next Barack...
And when might the GOP, get a new idea of any type... ;^)

Poor Sanger! He really rips her in that little speech.
I think Clinton gave an okay reply.

D'oh!! I'm sorry, I had a blond moment, there. It's in the 90's here and humid as hell and I wasn't thinking. My bad.

Heh. "cool".
I don't know enough to know how much he was distorting Sanger's full views there. I simply assume he was distorting them more than what is reasonable.

And you're most likely right. ;)

I'm pro-choice and I think Chris Smith is a tool. But Sanger did believe in eugenics. Legitimate scholars disagree over whether she was a racist.

"the study of or belief in the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population, esp. by such means as discouraging reproduction by persons having genetic defects or presumed to have inheritable undesirable traits (negative eugenics) or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have inheritable desirable traits (positive eugenics).
Origin:
1880–85; " - some dictionary
So Sanger favored a kind of Social-Engineered Darwinism?
She would have favored at least some abortions on that score.
"Not to be outdone by her followers, Margaret Sanger ... also sp[o]ke of those who were "irresponsible and reckless," among whom she included those " whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers.""
Is she talking about Catholics?
"When Nazi Germany adopted the principles of negative eugenics to create a Germanic "master race," Sanger wrote in a letter:
"All the news from Germany is sad & horrible, and to me more dangerous than any other war going on any where because it has so many good people who applaud the atrocities & claim its right. The sudden antagonism in Germany against the Jews & the vitriolic hatred of them is spreading underground here & is far more dangerous than the aggressive policy of the Japanese in Manchuria.."[12]

I watched that hearing, Hillary kicked his ass.
She is formidable, and any grandstanding, vacuous Congressman who wants to take her on risks becoming a eunich.

Hillary is definitely good at straightening out right wing distortions, that's why they hate her so.

Imagined behind the scenes conversation when Obama offered Hillary Secretary of State rather than VP...
Obama: You can bitch slap the opposition any time you want, just don't drag me into it. You can travel to anywhere you want. Did I mention bitch slapping Republicans? And not dragging me into it? Also, you don't have to deal with the financial crisis thing at all.
Hillary: Oh... so I do get the better job in the end!

That was a magnificent and off the cuff speech Hillary gave. She made me proud again of our national government.

You go there MJ! Killin' babies and eatin' barbecue! Yeehaw!!
Hillary will teach these men not to mess with us, right girls?!

OK. Margaret Sanger was an imperfect human being. I suspect that what really irks Smith was that she grew up as a good Catholic girl and became a good atheist adult. So he presents her in the worst possible light, ignoring the healthy kernel at the heart of her philosophy.
The look on Secretary Clinton's face as she listens is priceless. Her response was fluid, beautifully structured, and intellectually comprehensive. To do that while seething with contempt at a hypocritical goody two shoes is a bravura performance!

Hillary shut his fat mouth up didn't she.
I was a Catholic girl who became an atheist and I am proud of being one. No fanstasy here

And for anyone whom did not see Hillary destroy Rep. Mike Pence (R, IN) on the Hill last week, here is the YouTuber. Pence had made the unfortunate decision to voice for the camera, his paranoid view of Obama diplomacy.
Very poor choice, Mike (comedy ahead);
