Julie Nixon Eisenhower Maxes Out To Obama
I love "Open Secrets" where you can discover if you have any friends who are secret Republicans. (I don't).
I was looking up one guy I know in the "E's" and discovered that Julie Nixon Eisenhower, daughter of Richard Nixon and grand-daughter-in-law of Dwight David Eisenhower has maxed out to Barack Obama. Cool.
I guess that isn't that surprising. President Eisenhower was the guy who warned us against the "military industrial complex" that John McCain has spent a lifetime serving. And Richard Nixon, for all his faults, pretty much invented detente and changed the world by opening relations with China. Julie's mother, Pat Nixon, was pro-choice and pro-ERA.
Bottom line, Julie Nixon Eisenhower is one of those old-fashioned pre-Lee Atwater/Karl Rove Republicans. It makes sense that she's out there for Barack. If there are enough like her, we may even carry some states that we don't expect to carry.

So we are all decided then. Everyone's voting in a few days. Their minds are made up. Barring some massive event (like a stroke), nothing is going to change between now and Nov.4th. Anyone undecided at this point is ignorant and impulsive anyway. They are either going to cast a knee jerk vote for McCain or against Palin. Obama has made his case, and convinced those he's going to convince. So... essentially, the campaigns are over.
CAN we begin to focus no the next real issue?
WHOEVER WINS
Round up the corporate thieves, take back their stolen money, balance Bush's bull**** budget,
Spit upon all of them as we throw them in jail! OIL Goons, Bank Leaches, and the Executive Admin that paved their way. Pitooooey!

pj,
if President Obama puts Cheney in jail he'll win a Nobel Prize, if he puts Cheney AND Bush in jail he'll go up on Mt. Rushmore.

Dang John...
I wish this new site still had the old 1 to 5 rating system. I'd post twice to give you a 10 for this one.

With each passing year Eisenhower just looks better and better. As a man who really knew war, he didn't have to prove anything to anyone. McCain's tough-guy bluster is just pathetic in comparison. He reminds me of an aging thug on the look-out for a brawl.

I knew Ike, you, Senator McCain, are no Ike!
Ike smoked too much, Camels, his two fingers were stained yellow from the smoke

I wonder if there is a list of erstwhile Republicans who have endorsed Obama. Usually every campaign trots out a few of these -- here in Oregon outgoing Senator (let us hope) Gordon Smith even coaxed a couple of misguided turncoats into making a TV ad for him. But Obama seems to having a growing legion, some apparently unsolicited.

Why can't I find my name on open secrets? Is it accurate?

It only tracks donors once they pass the $200 mark, and the latest fundraising quarter totals may not be reflected yet.
