The Nation Credits TPMers For Killing AIPAC's Iran Blockade Bill
Almost immediately after I posted about the AIPAC Iran blockade bill here, Hill offices started getting contacted by TPMers (and others who read the post elsewhere).
This just demonstrates how the web has changed everything. In the old days, nobody but AIPAC types would have known about the bill and it would have been quickly approved. Now the web allows all of us to shine a light on activities that used to go on behind closed doors.
Back in the day (1982), when I worked or AIPAC, its then #2 guy, Steve Rosen, sent me a memo on my first day on the job. This was it, in its totality.
"A lobby is a nightflower
"It thrives in the dark
"And withers in the sun."
The sun is the internet.

Kudos MJ! Thanks for keeping the sunlight on AIPAC and its lobbying games.

So, you oppose the use of force against Iran (as do I) but you oppose sanctions, too?

What's the problem anyway?
If Iran attacks Israel, Israel will turn it into a black glass parking lot.
If they don't, what's the problem?
Weren't conservatives supposed to be the ones who felt that government shouldn't do anything unless absolutely necessary?
You're losing one struggle in that area already. Why the haste to make it two?

Congrats, MJ!
Together, you and Obama will destroy those evil "Zionists"!

PREPARE for a new America: That's the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.
He promised "fundamental changes" in US foreign policy - saying America must "heal wounds" it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the "arrogance of the Bush administration."
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House...
And yes, dcsmithie, Rosenberg opposes all Israeli self-defense. He opposes military defense for Jews. He opposes diplomatic defense for Jews. How else to achieve the desired effect?
As MJ's soul mate Hassan Nasrallah memorably said, "If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide." (Daily Star, Oct. 23, 2002)

Bob Lane,
I thought you said you were leaving the US for Israel. Don't stay on my account. All people should live where their loyalties lie.

WOW, MJ Rosenberg and Jesse Jackson must be really evil people, thanks for the alert.
From the Post Article you rerfer to;
Oh my God, HE SAID THAT?
continued from the Post:
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you that Obama might want to look at the world differently than the Bush/Cheney/neocon gang.
Finally, from the Post:
Maybe we should try quoting Obama and not Jesse Jackson?
