A Little Help From Our Friends...
Happy Friday Caférs!
We're about to launch an extremely cool set of new community tools but first, we need your help! And quickly! It won't take much time, and it'll be fun-- we just need some testers to poke around the test site and give us some feedback. The new Cafe features are all about you and we urgently want your thoughts and critique-- ASAP-- this morning-- now!
Drop an email here: tpmbeta@gmail.com if you have any time to spare and want to be involved in creating TPM's awesome future. You know you love us.

Would love to help but have not been able to receive the confirming email, after sign-up.
Al pointed out that some servers may have the test location blacklisted, so try a couple of email addresses for receiving. Seems to be happening with both of mine, but begs the question of what the heck you're doing at a test location that some servers don't trust.

We're hosting the test site through amazon, which is totally trustworthy. The thing is- many spammers have also started using amazon web services, so unfortunately some ISPs have blocked the whole domain. This shouldn't be an issue once we move the software over to the live site. If you haven't gotten the email, write to tpmbeta@gmail.com, and we'll help you get into the beta test.

I don't use the site that much that I'd consider myself a good test subject, but I do have a couple of weirdness items that I thought I'd mention...
1) For several days now the TPM Cafe page (only) has been occurring smaller than the other pages, lost in the middle of my 23" screen. I'm running Firefox on a PC.
2) When I access TPM through my iphone, I love the i.php version of the page. But I don't understand why the rest of the TPM links (muckraker, EC, cafe) at the top of the i.php page don't go to the i.php versions of the other pages since I've tested and they do exist.
Thanks,
--Megan

Any chance someone can be dragged off Beta test plans for a few minutes to fix the "recent archives" links at the bottom of the ?
Currently they do not have their correct urls assigned to them, they all have the url for the current Reader Blog page, that is:
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/
So you just get taken back to the same page you were just looking at!
The correct urls are on the links on the full archive page, but that's another step that most readers would not even think of trying, after being sent to the wrong place.
It could help a lot with all the recent todo about the Recommended List if readers could easily get taken to the rest of recent posts when they had reached the bottom of the page. The way it is now, with these incorrect urls at the bottom of the page, after a couple hours, a Reader Blog enters a graveyard. Therefore, there's an extra premium added on getting on the Recommended List, i.e., get on the Recommended list or get erased as far as most readers are concerned.
Also, I know I won't consider spending much time on a post with this set-up, I'm just not into stupidly wasting my time like that, and I suspect there are lots of others who think the same. Give people more of a chance to be read than within a few hours, please put the correct archive links at the bottom of the page when you get the chance.

Hey artappraiser, I just fixed the archive links. But you should really try the beta, cause we'll be flipping everyone to this system soon and we'd really like your feedback!
