Post-Debate: Right Is Depressed and Reconciled To Defeat

user-pic

DRUDGE's headline this morning says it all "BORING."

Just yesterday the creationists, racial paranoids, mindless hawks, neocons and gay-bashers were psyched. Bill Ayers! Rev. Wright! "Rezko."

Today they are in the dumpster. Johnny Mac dropped the ball. After sending out the cheerleader to race-bait and incite violence all week, Johnny Mac could not do it face-to-face. He feared, rightly, that if he did, Obama would remind voters of the Keating 5 or of any of the other scandals (public and personal) in McCain's record.

If you can stomach it, drop by Lucianne.com or Free Republic. They are so depressed, left with only the pleasure of reminding each other, in every way possible, that Obama is black.

So now the election is "BORING." In a sense it is. In the middle of a deep recession, the American people are going to toss out the people responsible for it. It is boring. On the other hand, the election of Barack Obama will be the most exciting election result of our history for all the obvious reasons.

But feel for the right. They are now in the first two stages of grief.
"Denial" (This can't be happening") and Anger ("No. it's so unfair").

Sweet.

"That one" won the instant polling after the town hall last evening, with McCain coming in at about 28%. Since all the pre-debate town hall chatter was about McCain's favoring town hall style formats, McCain should have clearly won but he didn't (and that's why now, it was "BORING").
They both fell back in their political talking points (Obama a little bit more so than McCain). But if the subtly of "that one" was lost from the audience, there wasn’t any post-debate analysis about how McCain on many occasions stumbled over his own words--he sounded nervous in a venue where all the pundits were claiming the town hall format was McCain's "home turf". Obama, stylistically did better; he has evolved in these debates (he should, what after 23 during the primaries); he’s more polished now, stutters less, and delivered more concise rebuttals. Some the pundits noted last night that Obama finally got specific on the economics; although, you really can’t get too specific because circumstance do change and committing to anything too specific could easily have little to no relevance later. One other issue that was brought up, post debate; If you’re still “Undecided”, you probably do have some inkling or leaning a certain direction but just aren’t going to tell the pollsters or the media; or at least, if you’re honestly undecided, you may just have not had the time to pay closer attention and do truly end up deciding at the last minute (in the voting booth).

You know, this is very revealing about their psychology. They invent these BoogeyMen out of Straw. And then they get their pitchforks, and their torchlights, and go storming up to the high castle to GET THE BOOGEYMAN.

And it is the most important thing in their life. Their adrenaline is flowing. They are shouting. Kill Him! Traitor!

Their blood lust has eclipsed the sun and then moon. And then their mod breaks onto:

A sunlit public square, and their is NO Monster. Just their own champion, tired and old, arguing and reasoning with some calm guy who talks like a lawyer. Talks about policy. No Monster????

What?!? Where?!!? But??!! Oh Well! BORING!!!!

They are all such Lord of the Flies children--running amok on their ideological tropical isle.

I watched this debate from abroad (3 a.m. my time), and one thing that struck me was how often McCain emphasized being a "maverick", voting aginst his party, and how Obama "never" voted against his party. That seems to say more for the quality of the Democratic line than anything against Obama. McCain apparently was in agreement with Obama, so why should Obama have voted against his party?

Nice Post!

'Nice post', was a reply for JohnMcCSF..don't know how it ended up as a separate reply.
