It's Official Now: GOP Campaign Among Jews Only About Race (See Video)

user-pic

At first, Jewish rightwingers tried to portray Barack Obama as anti-Israel. That fizzled after he delivered a speech to AIPAC, picked Joe Biden for Vice President, and when the anti-Obama machine could find no evidence whatsoever that he was unfriendly, in any way, to Israel.

Of course, the Republican Jewish operatives never believed Obama was hostile to Israel. What they were -- and are -- counting on is that Jews won't vote for Obama because he is African-American. They are having some success with that approach. The race issue is all they have but it's something.

Now, in keeping with the McCain camp's decision to go all-negativeand all-ugly for the rest of the campaign, the Jewish McCain types are dropping any pretense that opposition to Obama is about anything other than skin color.

See this video being distributed by McCain's official Jewish outreach operation. It is ostensibly an attack on Sarah Silverman for producing this pro-Obama video.

It features the Jewish comedian, octogenarian Jackie Mason (we have Sarah Silverman, they have this geezer) who is a well-known racist. He famously referred to former New York mayor, David Dinkins, as "a fancy ***** with a moustache." His comedy routines reek of racism. He has also refused to appear on stage because a Muslim preceded him in the same venue. He favors expulsion of all Palestinians from Israel.

Mason repeatedly ridicules Obama as someone who has "accomplished nothing" in his life. And then, he gets to his point: don't be steamrolled into voting for Obama because not voting for him could be considered racist. He is addressing precisely those Jews who are opposed to Obama because of his race and telling them that it's okay. This is just what the Jewish bigots want to hear. After all, if they are voting for a Republican nominee for the first time in their lives because the Democrat is black, they need a noted Jew to validate that decision for them.

It won't work. Even on the octogenarian front, they have Jackie Mason. We have Ed Koch who was mayor of New York for 12 years and is rather more credible than a rightwing Jewish Republican who an barely speak English.

Anyway, this is what the last stage of the McCain campaign will look like. As is so often the case, the crazy right first tries their act on the Jews.

MJ, I am really surprised that this site allows you to write the trash you keep spewing out here. This is one of your most vulgar and ignorant postings of all time. You make ridiculous assumptions that "all Jews now realize that Obama is 'pro-Israel'" because of one speech he made. It is inconceivable that maybe some Jews and others who are pro-Israel are still concerned about his long association with Jeremiah Wright and his haste in offering unconditional negotiations with Ahmedinejad. (This is in line with your preposterous claim that "everyone in Israel supports Obama", even though I am an Israeli and I DON'T support him, and that "Russian Jews in Israel should go back where they came from", among other such gems).
So now you extrapolate that since "EVERY Jews now knows that Obama is supposedly 'pro-Israel', the only other possible explanation for Jews NOT supporting him must be racism. This is disgusting accusation to make against any group of people, particularly Jews, who have been victims of racism for generations.

Your hysterical postings seem to indicate that you fear your hero Obama is going to lose. If it was so obvious that he is superior to McCain he should win in a walkover, so since he is not way ahead, you must attribute this to some mythical darker side in the American psyche. Like Lenin, you believe anyone who is not for you, is against us. Your way of thinking is the way of thinking of totalitarians. Everyone who disagrees with you is a "reactionary".

No, YBD, I think Obama will win. I am not 100% sure of that though. I am 100% sure that Jews will vote for Obama. The only ones opposing him will be Republicans (that's fine. They are Republicans and he is their nominee), racists and those who value West Bank settlements over America or Israel.
Sorry to get so under your skin.

Heard this morning on CSPAN - Michelle Obama was born in Iran. When the caller's source of this startling revelation was asked for by the CSPAN host? Everybody knows it.

Just in case being black doesn't do it, add an Iranian by birth, by deduction a Muslim, and voila - a triple play.

A certin kind of puerility has besieged this season's campaigning. Children resort to flamboyant name-calling and such because they have limited vocabularies. Got to wonder what's limited in adults who exhibit similar behavior.

A friend of mine was just told that Obama is Iranian too. Is this a new meme floating around? Any idea of the source?

And here I was just getting used to him being an Arab.

...As is so often the case, the crazy right first tries their act on the Jews.

I was with you right up until here. Are you suggesting Jewish bigots aren't responsible for their flaws? That their twisted worldviews are the products of some outside - and presumably non-Jewish - influence?

I have some quirks myself - I'll freely admit that. Is there somewhere I can sign up for such a Get Out of Blame Free card?

I think the point is that the right often views Jews as a fungible and easily labeled/manipulated group.

For the record: Jackie Mason has never been funny.

But Bill Maher's "Religulous" is an awesome movie. Saw it last night. Good stuff! The take away that I got from it: Evangelicals infiltrating government and getting close to being able to push the button on the Nukular (sic) bomb ("the be all, end all" -S. Palin), is a conflict of interest because they are dying, yes DYING, for armegeddon. They want the end of the world now.

Scary stuff. Let's get our act together, and completely dismantle the friggin' Republicans' coalition of eveangelicals and the "Southern Strategy" voters.

Sorry MJ
As an orphan son of those Fla Granparents.
(The age of Bubby and Zadie, is mostly past us), and as a card carrying, phone calling, Tee shirt wearing, YES WE CAN man, I don't see your point, in the Jacky Mason add. Now I admit I don't know
JM's politics, but I watched the add and I didn't see it. By the same token Sarah Silverman is herself over the top, to my taste. So I say let both adds play, and I will continue to lobby my Aunts, who are still with us, to insure they vote Obama.

Another racist diatribe from Mason about Obama.

Here is the complete set of Jackie Mason on Obama:

I walked out on Jackie Mason when he was spewing some over the top racist stuff at a club in 1995. Nothing new. For anybody susceptible to his crap, Mayor Koch ought the be the counter-weight.
