Palin's "Important New Voice" on Iraq

user-pic

You've got to listen to this clip, courtesy Matt Yglesias. But be sure you're sitting down.

This was evidently recorded on Aug. 14. The would-be vice-president, ready to command American's world force on Day 2 (after a briefing or two), does not live on Planet Earth.

Excuse me, which part of the clip do you think makes her extraterrestrial?

She's dancing around a topic she doesn't really know much about.

"The GOP agenda to ramp up domestic supplies of energy is the only way that we are going to become energy independent, the only way that we are going to become a more secure nation. And I say this, of course, knowing the situation we are in right now — at war, not knowing what the plan is to ever end the war we are engaged in, understanding that Americans are seeking solutions and are seeking resolution in this war effort. So energy supplies and being able to produce and supply domestically is going to be a big part of that. And the GOP agenda is the right agenda in that respect, but the GOP is going to have to prove to Americans in following weeks that we can safely, responsibly and ethically develop these resources. That, of course, has been a problem for the GOP. And a problem up here in Alaska. We have state lawmakers serving time in prison right now... other lawmakers whom the FBI is probing right now... because they have been found, some, to be corrupt in oil and gas issues, having taken bribes. That does not bode well for the GOP. And that's gotta change."

hmmm... seems time edited out some of her babble at the end of the clip there....

Sounds much like another beauty pageant contestant:

"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because uh, some, people out there, in our nation don’t have maps, and uh,
I believe that our education like such as in South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like such as,
and, I believe they should, uh, our education over here, in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa, and should help the Iraq and Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us."

Mean Dean,

hahahaha, good one. Those words will go down in history.

I felt sorry for that girl, still do.

Drill here, drill now with the caveat that it will make us energy independant, which it won't. Pure wingnut boilerplate. Plus complete nonsense about Iraq.

Some of the money from rising gas prices is going right into the Alaskan state budget giving them a huge surplus which she doles out to the citizens in cold hard cash. Must be nice, no wonder she wants to drill, drill, drill, she doesn't have to make any hard choices as long as that gravytrain continues

She had no idea what she was talking about...she was completely winging it. I can't wait until the VP debate when the foreign policy questions are asked.

I know someone else here already made the comparison but she sounds like Dan Quayle's long lost sister.

'Verbosity leads to inarticulate things'

Don't you people realize she is a Governor, that she has executive experience? Joe Biden has no executive experience!

John McCain said he always puts the country first and I'm sure that's what he did when he chose the extremely qualified Sarah Palin.

And if something happens to McCain? Well,
"President Palin" sounds good 't me!

I want to know whether she will bring the same marijuana laws they have in Alaska to the rest of the nation? Anyone know how she feels about doing that??

user-pic

And what are Alaska's marijuana laws? And do you approve or disapprove of them?

ENGLISH MUTHAFUCKA, DO YOU SPEAK IT?

seriously though, everyone ignore this dummy already.
