Obama on Offense

user-pic

Obama's new ad is very good and takes McCain's record and uses it against him, unlike McCain's cavalcade of lies.
Recent articles in the New Yorker and the New York Times have made it clear that Barack and his team are adept at Chicago style street fighting politics. In terms of organizers on the ground Obama beats McCain 3:1. All the old politics blabocrats on cable TV are still measuring this race in terms of old time memes. But the Republicans are clearly worried about the millions of new registered voters. As the Wall Street Journal bravely reported this morning, the Republicans are up to their old tricks--Scrubbing the Voter roles.

It's a good ad. I do not, however, see that this demonstrates the Obama team has put together anything more than a kind of boilerplate comparison ad as opposed to a demonstration of "street fighting." It isn't exactly intense or forceful. Pretty run of the mill really. They are throwing a lot of issues out at voters in 30 seconds--a whole lot. It could be a mistake to throw out so much at once as opposed to really focusing on one key issue such as establishing McCain's craziness on the war but we'll see. It's not very tough, but at least it shows some spunk and it certainly is a much more credible spot than any of the garbage McSame has put out there. I would like to see the ad somewhere other than on the web. I live a key battleground state and haven't noticed it yet.

....would somebody beat up on the mainstream media, it's driving me crazy with all of their Republican talking points; needling Obama even while on vacation; here are my talkings points:

Where was the criticism of Sen McCain being overly presumptuous and getting ahead of himself as POTUS when he immediately responded to the incursion/fighting taking place between Russia and Georgia. ..........McCain gets confused........ but Sen Liebermann to the rescue, "uh...Senator, whisper whisper whisper...".........oh, the sovereign country of Georgia, I get it now………....I'm John McCain and I approve of this gaffe..

According to the Republicans, it's never enough - anything Obama DOES or SAYS is characterized as just more shameful self-promotion and naiveté.

The novel by Jerome Corsi, “The Obama Nation” won’t have the same effect as the swift-boaters because a) most people don’t read even if it panders to their misconceptions; b) the internet and viral emails have already provided and promoted much of what Corsi tries to allege in his book; and c) even if Obama were to be a “Muslim” in Corsi’s view, we ALL know what the suggestion is by his book and the internet: Muslim = un-American = Anti-American = terrorist.

While Governor Mark Warner delivers the keynote address at Invesco Field, who will come trotting onto the stage but Hillary and her Clintonitas Freedom Fighters - demanding, whining, crying foul, and screaming out “Hussein." But they can share the 'Claim To Shame' Award with political strategist Mark Penn.

The Left strategy, if they know what’s good for them, will be to urge an Obama Presidential Administration for their issues and points of view rather than raising hackles at the Convention, like some PUMA supporters we could name.

The Republicans are doing their best to make the entire election a referendum on Barack Obama, with the help of the mainstream media constantly feeding the beast known as the internet and television. If they can raise enough REASONABLE DOUBT (as if to put Obama on trial), McCain moves into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Could be. Andrew Kohut says that only 75% of those who supported HRC say they intend to vote for Obama.

But remarks like this won't get him a single one of the remaining 25% . And might lose him some of the 75%

I wasn't aware Obama had made remarks like that.

The Communist Party USA newspaper published the following editorial endorsement of Obama:

“If Obama’s candidacy represented nothing more than the spark for this profound initiative to unite the working class and defeat the pernicious influence of racism, it would be a transformative candidacy that would advance progressive politics for the long term.”

Although it is an inocuous comment, the fact that it is from the Communist's will make Obama look suspect.

So, it's the truth but will be used against Obama.

That's how it works and why "Obama Nation" is Number 1 on the NYT bestseller list and Pelosi's book is in the mid 1000s. Oh well...

In that WSJ article on voter fraud, the attorney quoted makes the astounding claim that Obama's work with Project Vote in Chicago which, according to her, had been guilty of voter fraud (I would love to see the evidence...)by association makes HIM guilty.

Clarification of above post:

That attorney's assertion of Project Vote's guilt vis-a-vis voter fraud did not mean Obama's particular chapter/organization-but the that PV had been guilty at some point...

Still, the meme is created...
