Neocons Unhinged

user-pic

I don't know which is scarier--Bill Kristol speculating on Fox News that George Bush might invade Iran if he thought Obama was going to win the Presidency or Rush Limbaugh going ballistic about Barack, "the magic Negro". These guys are like deer caught in the headlights of a change election. They can't believe their Hundred Year Reign is over so soon.

"They can't believe their Hundred Year Reign is over so soon."

Assuming they don't find some way to rig this election.

"They can't believe their Hundred Year Reign is over so soon."

Yikes. Aren't you the optimist!

It infuriates me no end whenever I hear those whackjobs categorically declare that Iran's nuclear intentions are not peaceful. Everything I've read on-topic indicates that their primary motive is indeed securing an alternative energy source to petroleum. They know their days as Energy Lords are numbered.

From a psy-ops perspective, given that they share borders with -what- a dozen-odd other countries -- sure, I don't think they really mind if others are left guessing as to whether or not they'll one day opt to go that route (enrichment for weaponry). However, the Persians are not stupid; they are all-too-cognizant of the fact that, in this regard, they are, and will likely forever be, quite trumped in this particular game by Israel.

Kristol, Bolton, et al, really should be 5150'd, if you ask me. They truly represent a threat to the well-being of others.

Let's hope they don't try to blow everything up on their way out, like that Austrian with the funny mustache -- just to punish us for our inadequacy and ingratitude.

On the other hand, it is kind of funny watching them run around shouting "Army Group Steiner! Army Group Steiner!"

Or like Bush's dad, who welcomed Clinton to the White House by... sending troops into Somalia.

coralsea is being a little disingenuous when he (she?) talks about Iran's "nuclear intentions." I think it's highly unlikely that the thought of weapons hasn't crossed their minds.

but it's true that the wingnuts now in power here would be even stupider than we all thought if they started something with Iran. the Iranian people have no desire to go to war with us. (if we could lock Bush and Ahmedinajad in a closet and work it out ourselves it'd be far better.) why would we want to make ourselves even more hated in the Muslim world than we already are?

but of course these are the same geniuses who squandered the support of the whole world after 9/11, so...nothing's impossible.

The disingenuity (the opposite of ingenuity?) is in pretending that the nukleer cat is in the bag; viz, the resounding silence about AQ Khan and the Paki nukes, and, let's not forget the biggest rogue nukleer state in the ME is, in fact, Israel.

This disingenuity goes even further if you consider the testimony of Sibel Edmonds. In that light, the sabre rattling against Iran takes on a much clearer meeting, meaning politics.

Second Dave Bowman's motion.

And my answer to Jonathan Taplin's question is Bill Kristol.

user-pic

Third it; and the second-most scary thing is Bill Kristol's shit-eating-grin!

CVille,

agreed.

I'm way way older than Kristol, but if I ever came across him it would be all I could do to keep from punching him in the nose. I absolutely detest that man.

right, it's the 'new and improved Joker products' smile. hey its the smirk of
a 'cockeyed pessimist.' Kristol really is a scary man and is a bonafide war monger.

....more dirt on McCain's VP selection:

Before this recent burst of publicity, Gov Pawlenty earned some attention in early May with this quip on a Minneapolis radio show: "I have a wife who genuinely loves to fish. I mean, she will take the lead and ask me to go out fishing. ... She loves football, she'll go to hockey games and, I jokingly say, 'Now, if I could only get her to have sex with me.' " He quickly clarified that he was joking, even as his wife could be heard kvetching in the background.
Pawlenty couldn't resist another spousal reference during an appearance last week on CNN. Wolf Blitzer, discussing the speculation over McCain's vice presidential prospects, told the governor: "You're on the short list. That's what everyone says." Replied Pawlenty: "Well, my wife says I'm on a different kind of list."

Mrs Pawlenty clarified her husband's jokes by adding, "well,....I lit a cigarette afterwards and thought to myself, yes, ...for the first time in my life, I'm proud to be a.............."

Isn't your title redundant?

"They can't believe their Hundred Year Reign is over so soon."

Not to mention their Thousand Year Reich.

And can somebody please explain to me why Israel is not a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty (despite having one of the world's largest nuclear arsenals) -- all while we deny Iran their legal rights to enrich uranium/plutonium under the same treaty??

Give me an A...
Give me an I...
Give me a P...
Give me an A...
Give me a C...

Which spells, "Committee for the Total Destruction of Israel Through Amazingly Dumbass and Totally Unnecessary Policies."

Who is Israel going to nuke, anyway, when the Palestinian populations they insisted on swallowing breed them into a minority? The comparative rate of population growth is, what? Three to one? Four to one? Five to one? Nukes make really crappy crowd control.

I suppose they'll all end up in the collection of some tinpot despot. Oh joy.

With Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts carrying the torch, the 100 Year Reign still has some life left in it.
