Los Angeles filmmaker Robert Greenwald (OutFoxed ) is pretty good at mining old newsclips to devastating effect. He just put out a new short on John McCain.

I know a lot of people fret and worry about about the divisive Dem primary possibly contributing to a John McCain, but when you step back and really take a look at the G.E. race you just have to shake your head in pity at how brutally hard its going to be for McCain this year.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, children health indeed.

This is terrific stuff - note Taplin's urging to send it on. It's a challenge we should take up and try to get it enough coverage that the MSM picks up on it

Broadcast and cable television is just another comfortably deregulated industry that will do whatever it must do to stay that way, and the GOP (or the political wing of Blackwater Worldwide) is the party most likely to sustain the trend toward privatization of the public sphere and deregulation of private industry. The only responsibility that the parent companies of cable and broadcast outlets has is to their shareholders, not the broader public interest, and John McCain has done alot of favors in this area from his position in the Senate Commerce Committee. Do not expect the journalistic establishment of the TV industry to shit where it eats. I sent this video to 31 people.

Madison believed that we should have separation of church and state throughout the land, federal and local. There was a fascinating moment during the congressional debate over what became the First Amendment. How could the beloved First Amendment be harmful to religion? Huntington feared that it would overturn or interfere with Connecticut’s approach, which was to have state-supported religion.
