Washington Sports Scene: Ugh
So Arenas loses another game for Wiz in his normal style: he leaves his man wide open for critical shot and he misses his own critical shot. I'm sure he's injured, but (1) why is he playing? and (2) he does this when he's healthy too. He surely is the dead albatross for this team, and when they re-sign him they condemn themselves to mediocrity for years, at least until he demands a trade.
The Nationals are so player-starved that they are giving baseball in their new, ugly stadium a bad name.
And the Redskins are managed, in terms of people and system, in a way that makes every other team delighted to laugh at. Three receivers for top three draft choices, when they had one spot to fill? It's a farce.
I blame the Administration. It has cast a pall of irrationality across the whole city.

My mom lives there. I'm afraid to call her. She's a Wizard's fanatic & she loves Gilbert.

Why is this self-indulgent crap even published? Who, outside the Beltway, gives a damn? Why do we have to read this drivel, as opposed to equal drivel about the Houston Texans or the Minnesota Timberwolves or Kansas City Royals? You're abusing your posting privileges.
Go take your Beltway sports angst to someplace where they care about it.

DC United finally won. So, it looks like last year's Supporters' Shield winners might be back on track after a rough start (including losing out in the Concacaf Champions Cup semis).

You can't blame a player for the team's lose. Keep in mind that baseball, just as football or hockey pool, is a team game. The fact that one player played poorly couldn't have been the deciding factor if his team supported him. When they win, the team won, when they lose, one player lost... doesn't seem like a good logic to me.

I disagree with giving baseball, ice hockey, football bad names. After all, these sports gave birth to respectful traditions that made us who we are today. We ought to be supporting sports development. Just think about how many fans gather at some hockey pool finals. This reflects the value and popularity of sports.

I understand the pain a loss of your favorites can provoke. I remember being eager to watch the Wellington Sevens. After England's loss I was left with the rugby tickets in my hand. New Zeeland team has a great game, and especially the debutant Declan O’Donnell was in a very good mood.
