Dionne's Responses
We'll have responses up to E.J. Dionne's first post in the Book Club later this morning, but I wanted to make sure you all saw his responses to reader at the bottom of his thread. Here he agrees with a reader that religion is neither inherently conservative nor liberal, and here he takes on the New Atheists.

Sorry to bother you, Andrew. But I just spent 15 or 20 minutes fruitlessly trying to log in. Getting errors sometimes. Being told "wrong user name or password" other times. Nothing working at all some times. Despite that the system knows me by name!
I thought I'd have to send you an email, when suddenly EC decided to allow me to post. And then I could post here too.
This is getting so, so irritating that pretty soon I and others simply won't keep trying....
I know you're doing everything you can... but I keep having to sign in over and over and over....
Ok. Got that off my chest. Have a good day.

I'm sorry guys, we're doing our best. I'm frustrated, too.

Is there a way to check on recent comments? The only ones that show up for me are August of 2005.

Also, (trying hard not to be a pest) are you planning to make any distinction between new and old comments?

Again, Andrew, sorry to keep asking the same thing, but is there a way to check on our own recent comments to find out if there have been responses? My profile still gives up comments I made more than 6 months ago and nothing recent.
Also, will it be possible to review a post and note which comments we have already read like we did on the old site?
The first thing is one of the reasons I hardly ever bother to comment on Huffington Post anymore; it just gets lost in the shuffle and at TPM, even when there was a disagreement, you could keep the conversation going and it felt like it WAS a conversation. I miss my old pals who have probably defected. (Hoppy, where are you?)
Many of the bugs have been squashed, and I appreciate that. Are these issues (tracking our own comments so we can have a conversation, and flagging already-read comments so we can save time) being addressed? Thanks, Jan

Andrew, my latest post isn't showing up correctly. How can I delete it and post again?
