There are really too many states. My head hurts from trying to keep track of all of this.

Help me.

Update: By the way, anyone able to find any data on Ken's "Security Vote"? If you haven't read the post, it's worth checking out. He basically argues that we should look out for Dem performance in the suburban areas around NYC where 9/11 led to big gains for the GOP. Progress there would mean progress in rolling back the Fear Vote.

Eyes on Connecticut. . Obama 50-47, 54% reporting

Facebook

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, children health indeed.

user-pic

I agree with Andrew. I will help him reduce the number of states.

Any state with a literacy rate below 85% is out.

user-pic

I'm not sure that helps much...

Facebook

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience!

If Obama gets CT, he's headed toward carrying at least half of the states.

What really matter, though, are the sizes of the various leads. We need a network to start doing some delegate

I have total counts based on current percentages at c. 542 Obama, c. 552 Clinton.

I am happy to find this post very useful for me, as it contains lot of information. I always prefer to read the quality content and this thing I found in you post. Thanks for sharing.

Watching McCain, Huckabee, and Romney fighting this out... LOL

Mit won Utah and they didn't bother to count the votes.

TUnderwood has it right...

DE is a state.. but not large in delegates

user-pic

Hey all, I know everybody's saying that only delegates matter and that's right of course. But could this get so close that our nominee might not get a plurality of the popular vote? Won't that tick a lot of people off? Or does that happen all the time?

user-pic

Or... we could discuss that in Ed Kilgore's thread down below. Sorry!

user-pic

Huckabee is talking. Something about razorbacks and cotton bowls.

I have no idea what he's saying.

user-pic

He's so folksy he's confusing.

user-pic

Razorbacks and cotton bowls? Is he ordering tapas?

user-pic

Yeah, Huckabee doesn't strike me as the ethnic food type.

so far zogby is looking like the goat... again...

user-pic

That's exactly right. Not looking good for the Zog.

user-pic

PS, off topic, but...profiles are still broken. Not for everyone, though. Weird.

user-pic

NBC: Kansas, Obama. Kicks ass there.

ABC News updated delegate count.

Clinton 450
Obama 397

This call and response in Mittville is hilarious.

user-pic

link?

Thanks.

With the updated results on the TMP homepage, I've got C-595, O-626.

It's the Excel chart on the left. It's not pretty I know.

user-pic

How do you get the screen to display so well? The State counts always looks so scrunched on mine. I have 1280x1024 res.

Just the default size 1440x900 on my MacBook Pro. Macs generally resolve fonts better than PCs, which might be the difference. Try using "ClearType" on Win if that's your system. Otherwise, if you're on a Mac, you could increase the resolution.

When Huckabee was referring to "Razorbacks" and "Cotton Bowls" he was talking about down south college football. I believe he pulled out "Roll Tide" referring to the Crimson Tide of Alabama.

Pig Sooey (sp?) is the chant of U. of Arkansas.

user-pic

Yeah, it sounded like sportspeak...

user-pic

Huckabee is talking about his distant ancestors. He doesn't like the concept of apes.

WEll, I tried 3 times to make a comment and each time I got thrown off the site, so I guess I'll just turn this into a complaint about the aggravation of trying to participate in good faith to this freaking thread! Now I've forgotten what I was saying in the first place, but this probably won't get posted anyway.

I am getting enormously frustrated!

Jan

user-pic

I just got bounced off, too.

user-pic

MSNBC: CA -- polls closed, too close to call.

user-pic

Could Minnesota be Obama's biggest win?

user-pic

Why?

user-pic

In the early return states, which had either few or many delegates i.e. Delaware or New York, they have generally gone strongly in one direction or the other, for Obama or Clinton. And the delegate count between them has remained fairly close because of it. By picking up medium sized states by wide margins, such as the spread in Minnesota and Colorado, Obama might be able to outpace Clinton in the delegate count, if California ends up close.

user-pic

Makes sense. Thanks.

user-pic

More Huckabee on MSNBC...

Obama to speak at 11:15ET, so says NPR.

California exit polls seem to lean Hillary

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#CADEM

What's interesting, from my cursory glance, is that the Edwards folks (myself included) tended to swing Obama.

user-pic

How crucial do you think Edwards' 41 delegates will end up being?

In terms of the convention, not so much. If Edwards endorses or seems to be leaning in that direction, who knows? It couldn't hurt.

user-pic

Jim Lehrer report Democratic Delegates

Clinton 289
Obama 230

Matt Y says Bill Richardson looks like a Klingon with his new beard.

Can't say I disagree.

user-pic

Do you think he'll shave before he gets the Veep nod? After?

user-pic

Boy, I hope neither. We need more bearded elected officials.

user-pic

Is anyone still drinking coffee tonight?

Here the my newest delegate count with a reply to Steven. Seems IL was biggest pts. win for Obama.

http://lowonlow.wordpress.com/files/2008/02/picture-20.png

user-pic

MSNBC cuts from McCain to Obama -- a clear sign they're biased!!!

user-pic

Is bourbon a coffee?

user-pic

Okay, she has New York and California now. Obama should concede. Those are the trendsetter states.

Concede what though? The night? I mean - they are still only 20 delegates apart in my book. That probably won't change again tonight, but it certainly will, for better or for worse for each campaign as they see it, over the coming weeks/months.

user-pic

Oh, I was kidding and you know it.

He should still concede something.

That I should have another drink? I'll drink to that...

My last tally:

http://lowonlow.wordpress.com/files/2008/02/picture-21.png

Blue rows are states that have essentially closed; red is otherwise. Green's somewhere in between.

My personal opinion is that Obama may come out ahead by a hair. CA could still break more to him resulting in more delegates total, but who knows.

The polls in Alameda county were ordered to stay open until 10pm, because many polling stations ran out of ballots.

I think my mom is the only one in Oakland who voted for Clinton. I don't know how much help we'll be, but virtually everyone in my immediate part of town voted for Obama.

My posts appeared in the thread, but have now disappeared. wtf?

Madison believed that we should have separation of church and state throughout the land, federal and local. There was a fascinating moment during the congressional debate over what became the First Amendment. How could the beloved First Amendment be harmful to religion? Huntington feared that it would overturn or interfere with Connecticut’s approach, which was to have state-supported religion.
