The Huckabee Straddle
Huckabee maintains that what he really meant by Bush's "arrogance" and "bunker mentality" was "not enough troops" against "Islamofascism," and declares to Romney, “I supported the president and the war before you did.”

Mitt and every one of his five sons, support this war, that war or any war. They just don't want to fight in one, déjà vu George W., and there are other ways to support freedom.

I think that the reading of Huckabee -- that he merely was referring to the lack of sufficient troops in the invasion of Iraq -- does not do Huckabee justice. It was a glib dismissal articulated by one of the other Repugs in the debate.
Huckabee's point was more general -- that the Bush Administration is characterized by a kind of 'hubris', with the troops issue as symptomatic of that hubris.
While I have little use for an ardent Creationist (even a "pragmatic" Creationist) in the White House, we should at least not distort what these clowns have to say -- there's plenty to address without any distortion at all.
