John Bolton can be confirmed by the Senate in this session, despite the deadlock in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, if Senate Majority Leader Frist is willing to use the Senate rules allowing him to make a non-debatable motion to place the nomination on either the Senate's "morning hour" calendar or executive session calendar. Then he can use the so-called "nuclear" option to change by majority vote the rules and eliminate the 60 vote supramajority requirment to break a filibuster of an Ambassadorial level nomination. That way Bolton will finally get the up or down Senate floor vote that he deserves.
