Good piece. One thing about Clinton: She's not stupid. There's no way she would run with such numbers. A landslide Senate victory, coupled with a leadership role in a newly-Democratic Senate, might propel her in 2012 and would give her the singular chance to make a run (and drive down those numbers by working her own experience into it, coupled with more time passing away from the Clinton/Gore years).
While its nice to have Clinton as a lightning rod for Republican hatred, it would be more useful to have a range of viable, well-thought out positions to which to turn voters toward as alternatives to Republicans' loss of self-control at all things Clinton.
