Welcome to the TPMCafe Book Club! This is where we regularly invite authors to come and discuss their most recent works with readers and invited commentators. This week we'll be discussing Fawaz Gerges's Journey of the Jihadist: Inside Muslim Militancy. In his book, Fawaz attempts to map the different positions and factions within militant Islam, drawing on extensive interviews and his own experiences growing up in war-torn Lebanon. Join Fawaz, Peter Bergen, John Stuart Blackton, Juliette Kayyem, Steven Simon, and others in what is sure to be a lively discussion about politics and government in these muck-filled times.
