Cui Bono?

Hugo Chavez is, of course, completely correct to say that attacking Iran would make oil very expensive. Interesting, that means the beneficiaries of such a conflict would be Vladimir Putin and . . . Hugo Chavez who, like the rulers of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait could expect a financial findfall but unlikely the Gulf Monarchs won't face any political problems.

Yes, the oil producing nations will benefit greatly from higher oil prices caused by our coming attack on Iran.  But, so will all American oil companies, who will immediately raise their gasoline prices to take full advantage.  And, of course, the oil still being produced in this country will be priced at the higher price, giving still more profit to American oil companies.  Isn't it strange how everything the Bush administration does raises profits for US oil companies?

Won't Iran do what it can to make the Persian Gulf a war zone?
