Bush’s Dare
“In a 20-minute airborne news conference en route to the White House from Colorado, Bush also dared opponents to try to make a political issue of the new Medicare prescription drug benefit -- Democrats call it a bureaucratic fiasco…” [Washington Post, February 22, 2006]
With his administration in full spin mode to cover up and minimize the truth about the Part D disaster, President Bush is now giving dares to critics of his prescription drug program. Well Mr. President, we accept!
Doesn’t he realize that there was a reason why his speechwriters didn’t put a single mention of this program in his State of the Union Address? We will gladly remind people how the president and the Republicans put pharma and insurance profits above creating a simple and affordable program that seniors could use. No amount of spinning will cover this up to the people who experience the program first hand.
President Bush, we accept your challenge.

Challenge accepted. But Bush might just want to wake up. We've already been making it an issue since the thing went into effect. Hello, McFly? Anyone home?
