deadskins

user-pic

Losing to Norv Turner at home, with an utterly disappointing offense (bad play calling, poor line play, terrible receiving, turnovers by Portis), and the typical give-up of a long pass play for a TD by the defense, the Washington Deadskins' season has effectively, barring miracles, come to another sadly mediocre end. The coaches appear too old and players too inadequate. Fans, pathetic as we are, are crushed. We turn now to basketball.

ps. Until the owner changes the name, which is as likely as President Bush withdrawing from Iraq, the team is cursed.

Hello Reed,

Before I continue, I must say that I hold you in the utmost respect.  And I agree with you on most issues.  However, when it comes to American football, and the NFL in particular, I have only these two words to say, "GO RAIDERS!!!"

Yes, our season is practically over, and Reed, I feel your pain about seeing your team's spiral into mediocracy.  However, with "America's Team," the Oakland Raiders, finally winning and Cal crushing Leland Stanford Junior College, it was a glorious weekend for football.  Even though it has been a lousy season overall.

Actually, Reed, the curse is the owner, not the name. Sweet revenge for Norv yesterday, with Marty to follow next week. As a former 'Skins fan, who bolted when Snider fired Marty, I couldn't be happer for them.

Greg

The Raiders were better than their record would indicate, having lost some games they should have won. Porter had a tremendous game. Turner had something to prove. And there's still plenty of time left in the season for the 'Skins to pick up speed and make the playoffs.

The worst thing about professional sportswriters is that they make every game sound like either the moment of ultimate triumph or the end of the world. Reed, you aren't a professional sportswriter but you are falling into that trap. This is a 16 game season. As TS Eliot would say, "and indeed there will be time".
Well....I'm glad to see that's all you're gonna add...

cuz dem Giants is sad, sad, sad...

although watchin'm a few weeks ago

was the best fun I ever had, had, had!

GO PATRIOTS!!!
