The Point of No Returns
After a long hiatus, I have returned to TPM Cafe. A combination of a hectic professional and personal life has kept me out of the blogworld for a full month.
Not only have I not posted, but I have not read a blog in that entire time. I must admit that my psychic health has improved tremendously. I can concentrate better at work. I don't preface conversations with, "Well, if you read Josh Marshall today..." or "As I wrote last night at 2 AM..." And most of all, I feel a bit rejuvenated (although getting engaged can do that to a guy!).
So, I return to TPMCafe, but this will be the last post at Early Returns. Trying to run a business, launch a new "ideas" project to be revealed later, and do my own writing is a bit too much for this blogger to handle. Perhaps it's a generational thing -- after all, I am posting this via dial-up!
So, as the new year starts for some, I will be joining the fray of the main Coffee House. For a natural critic like myself, it's a good fit. And I am sure that my Wilsonian/Zionist/reform/market-friendly/good government/New Dem perspective will spur some lively conversation.
Thanks again to Josh for giving me this platform. Thanks to those who posted comments and to the thousands more who read me anonymously. And see you all at the main table.

Hey, I conjured you in my last line here?
You don't have to answer the question at that link. It was rhetorical, or maybe, sort of, a hint or something, meme spread intent, I dunno.
A suggestion for you. Instead of making formal serious posts, and thereby making it "work," or another "job," to post here, which means you probably won't post much, consider just posting casual thoughts when you have them like you did with this one. I for one would appreciate that. (If you do that all the time, it won't reflect on your speechwriting vita! You could even call it "my sloppy blog entry #101" or something like that, like it's intentional. Add some grammar errors and mis-spellings. :-))
In any case, sure is nice to hear from another missing voice from the TPMCafe roster; I think most readers here would like to see the thoughts of as many of the contributors as possible, and don't necessarily expect a fully thought-out position paper. After all, it's supposed to be like a cafe?
By the way, congrats on breaking away from the internet thing for a while. I agree that it's a good thing. Wish I could manage it more. :-)

Welcome to the Coffee House, and congratulations on your engagement. Perhaps you can start off with a discussion on the new Galston/Kamarck paper. /Mark
