What's New...
The immigration debate rages on at TPM Café today. Check out the latest posts by Michael Lind, Nathan Newman, and Matt Yglesias.
Another discussion is going on over at America Abroad, where Ivo Daalder, Bruce Jentleson, and Juliette Kayyem weigh in on the right questions (and answers) we need in talking about the Iraqi constitution and plans for withdrawing American troops. And Kenneth Baer explains why more arguing over foreign policy would be good for the Democrats.
On a lighter note, Josh is on a (greatly deserved) vacation this week (although he'll be popping into the Cafe from time to time). To make sure he doesn't get too bored without us, I thought we should pitch in and suggest some fun end-of-summer reading for the man. Nothing too wonky (no social security reports!) or too silly (Harry Potter fans...we love you...but, um, no.) Go to this post over at the Books Table to see what I suggested and to suggest something yourself.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon was a great vacation read about an autistic boy in England.

In the interest of cyber democracy, let me gently chide Kate Cambor for not noting that several regular readers have also initiated discussion posts on the question of immigration including yours truly, The Cranky Historian.
